what scares you the most

A tornado would scare me the most. (And the creepy flying monkeys.)

Been in all three although the earthquake was nothing but a hiccup compared to california quakes. Tornados get my vote - very little warning and nowhere to hide.

tornados are my choice, I hate how unpredictable they are.

But I still have nightmares when I watch Wizard of Oz. those scary flying monkeys, the tornado and that wicked witch.

They're all pretty scary, but since I've never experienced a hurricane or an earthquake, those are the most frightening to me.

Hurricanes do have a lot more advanced notice than the other two, so that would help, but it can't be fun sitting on the highway with the thousands of other cars trying to flee town. And hurricanes certainly do a lot of damage, as Charley certainly has pointed out.

I think earthquakes would be the worst, especially the big ones. Their occurrences are unpredictable (although you know it's a possibility if you are near a fault line). And I would have a difficult time dealing with the fact that the ground I am standing on is moving - that would freak me out.

They've gotten a lot better at warning people about oncoming tornadoes, but they come up so quick and can change directions so quickly. It's fascinating how they can leave some things completely untouched and destroy something right next to it. I'm glad I've never been in the direct path of one before.

Tornados are the scariest for me. But living in south central KY I really don't have to deal with hurricaines or with earthquakes so I've never experienced either one of those and if I did I might change my mind, lol.

Tornadoes are the only real threat to me at home, so because of that I am most afraid of them. But they usually affect fewer people than the other two options. Also they are less mysterious to me, and I know what to do if I have enough warning.

Hurricanes cause death and destruction (obviously), and are massive. But there is lots of warning time. So while injuries and death do occur, of these three natural disasters one can best be prepared for hurricanes.

But earthquakes?? There isn't any warning, and during a bad one there isn't necessarily somewhere to seek shelter like there is with hurricanes and tornadoes. They hit suddenly and can easily cause catastrophic destruction and thousands of injuries and deaths. So they are by far the scariest :worried: :scared: :sad1: :faint:.

Tornadoes! By far! You usually have little warning, and sitting in a dark closet waiting while the wind roars is terrifying. We live in the bottom edge of tornado alley and no one here has basements. I hate storms! If were in the path of a hurricane, I would run, Run, RUN!!!

Isn't it weird? I've always wondered why here in this part of the country, where we have so many tornadoes, very few houses have basements :confused3.

Tall men.;)

Standing near anything with a big dropoff (like a ledge) terrifies me too. It's not too bad if I'm sitting though.

tornados

DH had a job interview in Kansas, we had our tickets to fly out and I said ummmm I'm not going. So that was that!

I don't think he really wanted to go either;)

I never grew up with weather fears, in fact, never even HEARD of them until I moved here to Georgia. When I heard the fright in people's voices, everyone running to the store to get supplies and the weather leading the new stories, I was literally SHOCKED!

I only fear evil people.
