My sun roof open in the car as I drive along with the windows down and letting the wind blow in full force and it feels nice and warm...ahhhh....

Windows and doors open in the house all the time and the cats sleeping in the sun in the windows all day.

Sitting in the backyard in my special lounge chair, reading my WDW guidebooks with a nice cool ice tea.....


I AM A SUMMER GIRL....BRING IT ON...BRING ON THE SHORTS AND OPEN WINDOWS.....

I didn't realize how much I missed summer until I started reading this thread!!

Ahh...summer...let's see:

Grilling out smells all over the neighborhood

The drive out to the lake house - we have to go through woods, and the the canopy of trees is so green and thick...then the sunshine sparkling on the lake as we drift around with cold beers on our bellies.

Sunglasses, coconut smell, trashy romance novels...

The sun setting at 9:30pm

The smell of chlorine

The clean, industrial smell of air conditioning

Seeing my first lightning bug of the year, to me that means summer has started!

Grilling and eating on the balcony.

The daily walk to Starbucks in the afternoon.

Reading by the pool, waiting for DH to come home.

Wearing skirts and tank tops every day.

Being able to walk down the street to to my friend's house, instead of getting bundled up and making a run for it.

Ohhhh I love summer, I live for summer..
For me, summer is the hazy lazy days of summer.
When it doesnt get dark until 9pm
walking outside after dinner, just as the sun is going down, chatting with the neighbors who are outside watering their lawns
walking up to the cornerstore to get icecream for the kids
going to DQ, just because
floating around in an innertube in the aboveground pool in the backyard
taking a shower after a few hrs in the sun and noticing how dark Im getting
the ac blasting at all the stores and restaurants we go too
I wish it were summer all yr around, gosh I really do need to move further south.

Same here! I knew I missed it, especially lately. But all these memories are flooding back to me after reading some of these. I'll try not to look outside at the snow or think about the 3-4 months of winter left...

Waking up in the morning, staying in pj's, making coffee, then heading out to the back deck to have coffee, watch the flowers, and feed the birds....ahh, I can feel the warmth and quiet now............

farmer's markets and oodles of fresh garden veggies everywhere...

the sound of lawn mowers on Saturday mornings...

Here's a strange one - I like the royal blue color of swimming pools. Also love fresh cut grass, the smell of the grill, and the sound of my brook through an open window.
