What room should we request at WL?

We will be going to Disney for the first time from Jan 18-27. We will be staying in a courtyard view room with bunkbeds. I would like to be rather close to the lobby, but am worried about hearing a lot of noise from there. I have also heard that some rooms have been refurbished recently. Is there a section that I should try and request? Also could anyone tell me if a laptop that measures 13x9 inches would fit into the room safe? What toiletries come in the room. I know there will be shampoo, conditioner, and soap, but what about lotion and mouthwash. I am going to try and pack as little as possible and if these things are in the room then I won't pack them.

Thanks for any answers to my questions.

Hi and Welcome to the Dis! I'll try to answer some of your questions, but try looking at the WL FAQ thread. Page 1 has lots of info on it, and just ask any question on the thread and lots of folks see it.

Regarding rooms, unless you have one in the lobby area, noise should not be a problem. All of the rooms were recently refurbished so that is not an issue. If you want to be close to the lobby, request "Upper Coutyard" or "Upper Inner Courtyard" if you prefer that view.

I can't help with the safe question. I know that lotion is typically with the toiletries, but I don't recall about mouthwash. The Mercantile in the lobby has all of that stuff anyway - if it isn't provided, just buy a small bottle there.

Have a great trip - wish I could go, too!

Hi Melinda!!

I was just at WL in May. I tried to look for my TR to find the room number but it isnt there anymore :( so sorry :( I'll have to ask my parents if they wrote it down somewhere.

We were courtyard (main pool view). The reason I say this is because we booked/paid for a courtyard and were given a woods/villas pool view so we complained and they changed our room to main pool view. We were on the wing closest to the water but on the villas side. We've stayed there 4x now and this was a great location for the pool bc you could get stair access to it right away but we missed the lobby.

We were on the side closest to the bus stops so we didnt pass through the lobby to get there like on the other side. When we went to Roaring Forks we cut through the courtyard so we really missed out on the lobby this time. My dad usually goes down and reads in the lobby at night and didn't at all bc we were always busy or outside at the pool. I know we were on the 3rd floor and it was a refurb'ed bunkbed room. Here's some pictures:

We liked the view and the location but we will request the other wing next time so that we pass through the lobby and have quick access to Roaring Forks for our free mug refills!! As far as the bathroom goodies. They had soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, maybe a hair net? I'm not really sure, we only used the main products(soap, shamp, cond, lotion).

Thanks for your answers and gorgeous pictures. I'm so excited to go.
