Just to clarify, BWV water view and BWV BW view (which also has a view of crescent lake) are 2 entirely different choices. Water view is relatively easy to get but BW view can be difficult during popular times.
That is a really good point.
BCV has no reserved views. There are views of the community pool, the woods and......(I don't know the resort that well) - but none are guarenteed.
VWL has no reserved views. One side of the resort faces Bay Lake - the other side the parking lot - but the resort is set in such a way the you might catch a glimpse of either shine off water or shine off cars through the trees from most rooms - you really have two woods views.
OKW has one guarenteed location - which is near the hospitality house. Not a view choice as much as a 'I want to be close to the theme pool.'
SSR currently has no guarenteed locations.
AKL is tricky and I'll have someone else explain it further. But most rooms are Savannah view and I doubt that there will be much issue booking them. (Note that some room types may or may not have a view of the Savannah). Concierge however - there are only a few concierge rooms - those are seen as difficult to book.
Boardwalk Villas has three guarenteed views - Standard view faces the parking lot for fewer points. Boardwalk View faces the Boardwalk and lake. Preferred view is the rest of the resort - which also includes views of the canal between the Boardwalk and Swan Dolphin which Disney considers to be "water" view. Standard Views are generally considered to be one of the most difficult
DVC rooms to get - great location, the view isn't that bad, and its a really good value. Boardwalk View books next at the Boardwalk - you know what you'll be looking at and bad views are pretty much none (although I'm not sure I'd want the rooms on the first floor).
BLT has three views. MK View, Standard View and Lake View (I think they call it Lake View). I'm not sure if anyone knows exactly where each room type will be yet, or how many of them will be there. People are expecting the MK view to be pretty popular, but its also really pricey point wise and its possible that it will be available more often than currently anticipated. Standard View is going to put you in a great location for less points - but it isn't the point break that you get at the Boardwalk.....we will have to see how this plays out a few years after the resort opens (the first year or two isn't a good gage.
