What room is harder to get?
Animal Kingdom Lodge with Savanna view?
Boardwalk with prefered view (water/Boardwalk view)
Wilderness Lodge with water view
Beach Club with water view
(trying to decide which should be my home resort)

Seperately, how hard is it to get in Contempory Tower with MK view?
(would like to stay here but just a night or two just to do it once)

Beach club with water view - it doesn't exist.

I was going to say the VWL with water view for the same reason. There are no views to be guaranteed at BCV or VWL.

As for BLT, it hasn't opened yet, so no one knows how difficult it will be to get the MK view. I thought only 20% of the rooms at BLT had MK views. Kind of like BW view or Standard view at BWV. So it might take home resort advantage for that, too.

If between Nov 20 and Jan 5 and you want VWL, you had better own there. IF during Food and Wine in Oct/Nov, and you want BWV or BCV, same--own there. Also, BWV has a lower points category that is very hard to get unless you own there. AKV has the most units of the DVCs you asked about. However, the difficult units to get at AKV would be concierge level and Value category.

I'll ignore the view issues at BCV & VWL because they don't apply and wouldn't be guaranteed if they did. I'll assume you're asking at the 7 month window and assume once AKV is fully on board. I think that BCV will be the most difficult of those for most times of the year with VWL the most difficult for Dec. AKV savannah view will be next and BWV preferred view last of those 4. Given we don't have official stats, the best we can do are educated guesses.

I'd have to say the BCV with ANY view is the hardest. That's because I've been unable to get BCV three times. Twice I ended up at BWV with a BW view, once VWL and AKL with savannah view were both available.

I didn't check any of the choices. It seems like at BWV, standard views go first, especially the studios - because of location and the lower number of points required.

DisFlan

I thought BWV w/ water would be tough to get at the 7 month mark but I just booked it today. I chose a 2 bedroom for the 2nd week of June (7-12)maybe that makes a difference. I would think maybe the Studios are harder to get. I had no problem, I was amazed having read all of the threads about availability at the 7 month mark.:yay:

Just to clarify, BWV water view and BWV BW view (which also has a view of crescent lake) are 2 entirely different choices. Water view is relatively easy to get but BW view can be difficult during popular times.

That is a really good point.

BCV has no reserved views. There are views of the community pool, the woods and......(I don't know the resort that well) - but none are guarenteed.

VWL has no reserved views. One side of the resort faces Bay Lake - the other side the parking lot - but the resort is set in such a way the you might catch a glimpse of either shine off water or shine off cars through the trees from most rooms - you really have two woods views.

OKW has one guarenteed location - which is near the hospitality house. Not a view choice as much as a 'I want to be close to the theme pool.'

SSR currently has no guarenteed locations.

AKL is tricky and I'll have someone else explain it further. But most rooms are Savannah view and I doubt that there will be much issue booking them. (Note that some room types may or may not have a view of the Savannah). Concierge however - there are only a few concierge rooms - those are seen as difficult to book.

Boardwalk Villas has three guarenteed views - Standard view faces the parking lot for fewer points. Boardwalk View faces the Boardwalk and lake. Preferred view is the rest of the resort - which also includes views of the canal between the Boardwalk and Swan Dolphin which Disney considers to be "water" view. Standard Views are generally considered to be one of the most difficult DVC rooms to get - great location, the view isn't that bad, and its a really good value. Boardwalk View books next at the Boardwalk - you know what you'll be looking at and bad views are pretty much none (although I'm not sure I'd want the rooms on the first floor).

BLT has three views. MK View, Standard View and Lake View (I think they call it Lake View). I'm not sure if anyone knows exactly where each room type will be yet, or how many of them will be there. People are expecting the MK view to be pretty popular, but its also really pricey point wise and its possible that it will be available more often than currently anticipated. Standard View is going to put you in a great location for less points - but it isn't the point break that you get at the Boardwalk.....we will have to see how this plays out a few years after the resort opens (the first year or two isn't a good gage.
