So excited that I was able to upgrade from the WL to the Poly and at a huge savings too.....

From reading all the information, I am thinking for myself, DH and my two DD's - 3.5 & 18 months, the best long house is Tokelau. WE are booked in a GV room and I really don't want to upgrade the room category.....

Does that seem like a good choice? Any specific room #'s I should request?

Thanks :)

Honestly, I don't really think there is a bad choice there. The walk times are minimal from every longhouse to the the GCH. Rapa Nui or Tahiti is where I would pick to stay, if I was staying in the GV category. The reason being that both are very centrally located to what I am interested in. I love the easy access to the monorail from that end of the resort. It's so nice to just walk over to the TTC and head right off to Epcot. The walk is very pleasant from those longhouses to the GCH also. The longhouses closer to the GCH, the pools, lagoon, beaches, and the luau are all walked by at all hours more often that either Rapa Nui or Tahiti. More foot traffic equals more noise and I like my peace and quiet. :thumbsup2

Again, I really don't think that you can make a bad choice at the Poly. I love the resort. I look forward to staying there again.

I will second this whole heartedly. We were so disappointed to find we had been placed in Tahiti last November, but I am requesting it again for our April trip for the very reasons Timon-n-Pumbaa Fan listed. The walk to the CH simply isn't that bad, but you do not get foot traffic by Tahiti. I think it is tough to specify a room, but I am requesting 3rd floor. Makes it a little tougher to be on display if the curtains aren't closed...

Good luck!

I think Tokelau is a great choice. :) Last trip we requested either Tokelau, Tahiti or Rapa Nui, in that order & we were given a 3rd floor room in Tokelau that overlooked the Hawaii bldg & if we craned our necks wayyyyyyyyy over we could sorta see the lagoon & MK in the distance. :upsidedow

I'd caution against requesting specific rom numbers, as they are less likely to be able to grant such a specific request. Better to just tell them what's important to you, i.e. longhouse, balcony, patio, specific floor, etc. General wisdom is to list no more than 3 request and put them in order of priority, and don't expect them to accomodate *everything* -- if they can and do, great, but if not, remember they are just requests. :goodvibes

Anyhow.... we like Tokelau for the central location, and it's slightly larger room size. We like that end of the resort because it tends to be quieter, less foot traffic than rooms closer to the main pool & the GCH. We also like the short walk to the TTC to catch the Epcot monorail.

IF you find that you need to take mid-day park breaks with your little ones, the Poly is great w/ monorail access to both MK & Epcot. We also found it really easy after taking an afternoon break to head back out to Epcot for dinner. Have a great trip. :thumbsup2
