What Rides Will You Not Ride and Why?

::yes::
Crazy right?? People like us don't care about falling out....as long as we can get out! :rotfl:

It's such a stupid feeling too...I hate it. I remember being claustrophobic as a little kid but I didn't understand it or couldn't describe it. I just remember being in the back of my grandparents 2 door car feeling like I just HAD TO GET OUT! You can't tell your Grandpa at 7 years old...Please stop the car...I need out.

When I hear about people being stuck on roller coasters with that bar over their head I get short of breath at my house! It's so ridiculous and I wish it didn't happen..but it's not something that you can easily control.

It's so true that it's almost funny.. I fear falling out of the darn ride and landing on my head less that being stuck in the restraints for an indeterminate amount of time:scared:.
I can't tell you how much better this thread has made me feel though that it has a name and other people go through it. Maybe we should take a group Disney trip where we almost ride everything and chicken out at the last second. Wouldn't that be a great time?:lmao:

Kali River Rapids. Never feel like getting soaked.

I wouldn't mind getting soaked on it if it was actually a fun ride...

But it's sadly akin to walking under someone's sprinkler...very, very slowly, except you're sitting.

Yikes. If that's what it seems like, then it would be on my NO list too

The Indy Speedway....we drive down every time...tired of driving. (Test track isn't that much different from riding with my wife....but that is another story)

The Barnstormer...too small for me.
Astro Orbiter...too much line for too short a ride (we sometimes ride during the Christmas party).
Dumbo/Aladdin's...again the line.

If it was still open, Body Wars. Only ride ever to make both of us sick.

Kali River...unless it's REALLY hot. Just too much wet.

I swore I'd never do the Teacups but I just did with my very happy son. Really not something I want to do again. Waaaay to spinny for me.

I had never had an issue with claustrophobia until my first ride on Mission Space! It was even on the green side, at that!! I honestly thought I was going to DIE! I don't know if it was the way the air was blowing down on my face from the vent above, or what, but I was seriously about to freak out! It felt like I was getting NO air into my lungs. I began to calculate that the human brain can go without oxygen for approximately 3 minutes before sustaining serious damage; the ride lasts 5:38; we're about 2 minutes in; just keep trying to breathe; it'll be over soon..LOL!! Against my better judgement, my family convinced me to ride it again the following year. That time I was fine! :confused3

I still don't ride Space Mountain for the reason everyone else has posted. I yelled to my husband about half way through the ride that it was a good thing we were through having children because my insides had been jarred out about 2 turns back! The lady behind me yelled that her's were back there too! :rotfl2:

I am not going to ride Splash Mountain or Kali rapids because we are going in January and getting drenched on water rides will not be an experience we want to embrace. Although DS's favorite ride at Six Flags is Aquaman (formerly Splashwater Falls) and he could ride it all day if I would let him. I think both of the above mentioned rides will be closed anyway while we're there. I hope so.

I won't do:

Teacups (too spinny)
Carousel (even as a kid, the spin combined with the up-and-down of the horses made me sick)
Mission Space, orange (ruined the entire rest of my day the only time I tried it)
Star Tours (made me motion sick)
Dumbo (boring)
It's a Small World (that SONG!!! :crazy2: )
Monsters Inc. (wasn't funny to me :confused3 )
Tomorrowland Speedway (boring)
Space Mountain (too hard getting in and out of the ride vehicles)
Kali River Rapids (unless it's pouring rain out...then I'll make it my last ride of the day :thumbsup2 )

Mission space, star tours, rock n roller coaster, SDMT, big thunder, splash, space, everest, really anything rougher than pooh = This type of thing makes me throw up :faint:. Not a fun experience on vacation (minus teacups, I love teacups)

Dinosaur = I have been deathly afraid of dinosaurs since I was little, honestly haha

Stitch = scares the not-very-disney-word out of me every time

Test Track = simply due to me being wimpy. :confused3

Obviously I am not much of a ride person lol. I go for the characters, food, and magic princess: I like to consider myself a professional bag holder.

Well you are braver and crazier then me! :thumbsup2

Isn't it awful?:worried:
Before that episode on Splash Mountain I had never even thought about it. I rode anything and everything without a concern. Then Wham!.. now I worry about every ride. Because we love Disney so much I became determined not to give in to it. I do avoid the obvious ones, but I make myself go on the others and like I mentioned.. knowing that the ativan is in my purse and if we were stopped and I had a panic attack, it would only take a minute or two to start working if I put it under my tongue makes it much better. It's all perception, and I can try to apply logic to it, but it only goes so far. It's a pain in the butt.

Yep its awful- its hard to explain to people who don't struggle with it. I'm not looking for attention or coddling- in fact my whole life I've always been fine with being "back stage."
But we'll keep on' keepin' on :grouphug:
