hi
my mum and dad are meeting up with us in WDW, mainly they are coming to experience our kids (5yrs and 7yrs) first ever WDW experience, however its their first time too...so my dad is 78, suffers from arthritis in feet and hips and takes medication for high blood pressure, aside from that is ok! he will be hiring an ECV
can anyone give me an idea of suitable rides for him that he can experience with the kids so that I can include in my plan
my mum is 74, she is not very adventurous, cant see her wanting to go on any coasters! but she is a lot more able bodied than my dad, i am sure she will want to experience some of the magic as well!
we will be visiting all of the parks so i am keen for your suggestions

thanks!!

If you look in the disABILITIES FAQs thread, there is a list of attractions with warnings in post 23 on page 2.
Those are the ones you would probably want to avoid.

You can find the disABILITIES FAQs thread near the top of this board or follow the link in my signature. There are some rides that may be more difficult to get onto -there is more information about those in posts 18-21 of that same thread.

It would be helpful to know which parks you plan to go to and also a little about your childre's interests. These are my suggestions without knowing more.

For Magic Kingdom,
Small World, Buzz Lightyear, Country Bears, Tiki Room, Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Laugh Floor and Mickey' s Philharmagic. Pirates and Jungle Cruise are a big step down to get in. Peter Pan requires a quick entry md exit because the moving walkway won't stop or slow.

For Epcot,
Imagination, Soarin' (if no one is afraid of heights), Living With the Land, Spaceship Earth, Turtle Talk ( really everything in the Seas).
The Kidcot stop in Epcot's World Showcase are nice. You can get Epcot Passports (buy or make your own) that the kids would take to each country to have the CMs from that country sign a message in their native language.

For the Studio,
Muppets 3D, Toy Story Mania, Beauty and the Beast show, Backstage Tour, voyage of the Little Mermaid, Magic of Disney Animation.

For ANimal Kingdom,
Festival of the Lion King, Finding Nemo, Flights of Wonder, the Safari, Triceraptop Spin, Conservation Station nd the different animal viewing trails (accessible to ECV).

My Dad is 77 has had cancer, open heart surgery, 7 stents in his heart and has congestive heart failure. He either uses his walker with a seat or his lightweight scooter depending where he is going. He rides every ride there is at Disney. So if your parents want to ride it let them

thanks guys thats great info...
Michigan your dad is awesome!!!
