Ok I got the height limits for rides at disney just making sure these are the only rides with limits. The one I had is a pdf from disney's site. I cant post the link I dont have enough posts to post the link. I got it off of the little ones page.

Also what rides does your 4-5 year old love? My daughter will be 4.5 when we go we will also have a 4 mo old baby. So let me know if the ride is ok for the baby or if my husband or I will need to sit out while the other takes our daughter. Also will they let me keep the baby in a sling during the ride. My plan was let the baby lay in the stroller unless its time to nurse or we get in line for a ride that the baby is going on. For nursing and rides I was going to keep the baby in the sling. Will they let me do this or will I have to take the baby out for the rides?

I have not been to disneyland since I was 9 years old. I am now 25 so I cant remember what the rides are like for most. My dad seems to think that dd will love indy (but I think she will be to small) and HM which im sure she would love indy and maybe HM but they were not on my list of rides. A few other people also told me that their 4-5 year old went on those rides aswell. I was thinking more peter pan, snow white, dumbo and rides like that. Then potc and a few slow older rides like that but never did it cross my mind to take her on a ride like indy or HM. So im just getting differant people saying one thing vs what I was thinking. I just want to see what rides your 4-5 year olds will go on and see if its the same I was thinking or differant then what I was thinking.

Our daughter was 3 last spring when we took her & she loved any ride she could get on!! Big Thunder Mtn RR was her favorite followed closely by Space Mtn & Pirates. She pretty much led us to what she'd be willing to try. Most kids like the rides in Fantasyland, Autopia, Buzz Lightyear, Small World, Toontown, Winnie the Pooh, Bugs Land, King Triton's Carousel, Monsters Inc.....

Some kids like the fast rides, dark rides & others like the lit up ones & open air. You will just have to watch to see what your daughter likes.

I can't really help with the baby in the sling.....I've seen lots of parents doing this but not sure which rides allow & don't allow that. They do offer a "Baby Swap" where you could ride a ride with your daughter while your hubby waited with the baby & when you get off, he gets on with your daughter & you take the baby. You need to request a baby swap ticket from the CM working outside the ride.

My daughter was 4.5 when we went to Disneyland. She loved Dumbo, Teacups, King Arthur's Carrousel, Casey Jr, Buzz Lightyear AstroBlasters, Astro Orbittor, Winnie the Pooh, and Big Thunder Mountain RR. We skipped the scary rides completely, so I don't have any input on those. There were other rides she liked, but those were her favorites. (It's a Small World was down when we were there.)

We have taken our kids when they were similiar ages (see my trip report for last November). Your baby will probably be able to stay in the sling a lot of the time, my little really liked IASM and JC when he was that age. The wonderful thing about little babies is that they arent scared of the rides like bigger kids are. I would watch some of the YouTube videos of the rides so you can see which ones you think your dd would like, then when you get to the park start with the outside "friendly" rides before moving onto more "scary" rides like HM or even Winnie the Pooh. Good luck and I am sure you will learn lots by being here!!

When my DD was 4 her favorite was BTMR, she went on Splash Mt and wasn't sure of the big drop at first, but then decided she liked it. She also loved Gadget's Go Coaster. HM and POTC were fine as well. She basically went on everything she could go on at that age, except Space Mt which she didn't try until a few years later.

It just really depends on the kid. For example, our 4 year old loves Buzz Lightyear, Star Tours, The Matterhorn Bobsleds & Toy Story Mania but he hates the Nemo boats. He just doesn't like the "flashing fish" :lmao:

For the Bobsleds & Star Tours there is a height requirement.

Hope that helps!
Have fun!

You probably won't know until you get there. The things she may not like could be because they are dark, fast, high, flashing, loud, or a combination.

I had the most problems with darkness for my sons first trip. Second trip didn't like the Harry in the matterhorn and that was about it.

For sure A Bugs Land in DCA and the outside rides in Fantasyland are the safest bet for young kids.

So it seems to be differant with differant kids. But alot of these were ones I never thought of to take her on. We are doing mm and ttmm on our first day (a saturday) so from those rides I will see how she does and what she will be willing to go on.

I learned about baby swap here so we will be doing that. Im sure both of us will want to be able to do most rides with her.

My DD loved the play area in DCA, the one with the bug theme (it's a bug's life). There is one where there is water shooting out of the ground - just make sure to bring water shoes because she can't be there barefooted. The rides were also pretty tame, she went on Heimlich chew chew train a couple of times. Saw the bumper cars but did not want to do it. Was fascinated on the Peter Pan ride. Loved Dumbo. Did not care for the train (too noisy). Enjoyed the Toontown houses but didn't go on the rides. Enjoyed the Tiki room. Most of all, she wanted to go on the carousel ...!

She was 4 at the time.

DS has always been on the tallish side, and he's not quite 48" in bare feet at 6. 48" is needed for Indy. He is ridiculously excited for when he gets to ride that ride, despite not having seen the movies. But he has some Indy Lego sets, and knows the music, and "plays" Indiana Jones all the time....

Just to show you how odd it can be with a kid, and how you can just never tell....

DS rode TOT at 4. Liked the up and down. But won't ride again (yet) because of the lightning/disappearing effect before the ride starts. He also refused POTC for a full year because he was afraid of the Davey Jones effect in the ride. Meanwhile, he's WATCHED all three POTC movies (apart from the nasty crow scene in the second, and the part that ends the boy singing in the beginning of the third). But floating "through" a smokescreen of Davey is just too much!

He won't even go INTO the Space Mtn building.

Back and forth. :)

TSMM is quite awesome, and she'll likely love it! Don't forget bug's land, as a fabulous way to start at DLR. Of course, both of those are in DCA. Oh, and don't start with "it's tough to be a bug", the show at the entrance to bug's land. DS still hasn't been on it and we think that's prudent. :)

Disneyland's website is a good place to find what rides have height limits, by the way.

Oh, and I've read that some CMs won't let babies on in slings, saying baby needs to face forward. And be awake.

We just got back from DL with my 3 and 5 yo niece and nephew. 40 inches is pretty much the magic number for a lot of the coaster rides (except Matterhorn). The 5 year old was able to go on all rides in DL except Indy, but Splash and BTMRR were scary enough that one time was enough for him. He didn't even attempt Space.

I just asked him and he says Buzz is his "most favoritest" ride. LOL
