We will be carrying a small Waterfly sling bag with a 3 prong clasp. What rides do not allow bags at all? I know I read Forbidden Journey is one of them and that there can be a line for the lockers. I also know Hulk has metal detectors now but we will be doing Rider Swap for Hulk so that wont be an issue. Are there any others?

Yes I have done so and no issues

Things that do not have 3 prongs are not allowed

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe anyone entering the line for the major coasters like Hulk will need to place belongings in a locker regardless of whether you're riding or not.

If free lockers are by the ride, no carry on for that ride

It is not optional

Is there an actual size restriction for MIB or Forbidden Journey? The link above is the bag we have. It has the same clasp as a fanny pack and I don't really think its much bigger than some fanny packs but I couldn't find measurement anywhere. Does Mummy have metal detectors like Hulk? MIB and FJ are the only 2 we all ride together and Mummy we will probably child swap so I am hoping we don't have to deal with lockers :)

I am interested in this too. I was planning on doing a Kavu sling bag which does have a good clasp but are larger? will I have to locker it?

you should probably shoot off an email to guest services with that question.
include your phone number as the TM do call peeps back instead of emailing them at times.

what i think is acceptable might not be.
i'm sure it will help you to know the information in advance before you get to the parks.
this is why i suggest to contact guest services

my understanding was no large items on some of the rides.
a waist bag with 3 prong clips are fine on some of the rides but anything larger i really can't comment on.

in october last year, the mummy did not have metal detectors.
RRR did and peeps had to walk thru it before getting in the line for the ride.

Mummy does not have a metal detector. On FJ, they let us go in with a backpack as we had a non rider. When we got close and they saw the bag, someone came and said: so you have a non rider? You can come with us and wait for your party at the end of the ride..

I wear a Kipling Multiple on all rides except the 3 with metal detectors.

That's about the largest I've seen them allow. That bag you have does look a lot bigger, but pictures can be deceiving........if it doesn't impact the safety harness you may be ok. But I would agree with Mac, contact Universal for a definitive answer.

The lockers aren't really an issue........for the most part they take seconds to deal with. Some folks do have issues with them, but we never have. We only use them if we have DH big camera with us, but it's never been a problem.

A sling bag you're going to have to put into a locker. Mac is being sweeter than me by saying to contact Guest Services, but I would say that the answer will be "no".

A waist pack is much smaller and is allowed on some of those rides.

I was at UO in the ugh ugh heat on the 24-27th, and once you moved your way to the back of the locker area it didn't take much time. Any time WE took was because we had TWO backpacks that were large, and we had to shove them in. And DS is down an arm (broke it early August) so we had to go one at a time. Then we were at USH in July and on the 1st of September, and again, no problems with the lockers (though USH Mummy locker area is a broiling hot disgusting MESS, and we ended up saying "whatever", though I think there was a swear involved and paid for a larger locker for a longer period of time b/c the free lockers at USH were the size of a pea LOL and had lines for what seemed to be ages).

If you have a non-rider holding your bags, be prepared to tell them that allllll throughout the queue!

They're not going to allow that, I can almost guarantee it. Really the only kind of waist pack allowed has just enough room for a cell phone, point-and-shoot camera and wallet. That bag is big enough to fit an iPad.

Are Mummy lockers usually bad-or was just an unlucky day? This is our first trip and so far the only locker complaints I have read about were FJ, so I just want an idea of what to expect and we may just pay for a locker and hit all those rides in the afternoon before collecting our bag if the free lockers are really a problem.

The only lockers I find to be PIA are for dueling dragons. Like a PP stated, we always got the back section of lockers and usually never wait to get one.

I'm 99.999999% certain they will make you put that in a locker. And, even if you didn't *have* to put it in a locker, there's no place for it to BE when you are strapped in on the rides. If it's strapped securely on to you as a crossbody, it's going to interfere with the restraints, and that's definitely a no-go.

I've just seen a pic of that bag modelled on a real person..........it's big.

Won't be allowed.

After looking at that bag again and reading from those that go frequently or have worked there, You'll be using the locker

You can add Gringot's to the no bags / free locker list.
