I assume you can't do it on rocket hulk and velocicoaster b/c of the metal detectors, is there anywhere else though? Anything else i should know gopro related?

Thanks in advance for the help!

There are quite a few rides that don’t allow loose articles. Gringotts, MIB, the Mummy, etc.

I know people video on the kiddie rides and water rides, but you might want to call guest services and ask exactly what their official policy is and what rides you are allowed to film on.

I don't think they allow recording on most rides.

There are POV videos for every ride at Universal (and Disney) on YouTube, so I don't really think there are any restrictions for recording (except when maybe before a ride is officially open - for example there were no Hagrid's videos up and there are no Velocicoaster videos up now because that ride isn't officially open yet -- perhaps it's a violation of the passholder agreement or some such thing, and all the big bloggers and orlando vacation sites don't want to violate that.

Do you have a harness for your gopro? I'd probably go that route rather than hopping on a ride with a gopro attached to 3-way or tripod/grip handle.

.

I have the hand/wrist strap from gopro. It feels pretty safe on that.

Do I need a go pro? You’re kind of making me think that I do. I’m not a trouble maker though, so if anyone wants to make a list of where it is ok to film that would be great.

There are definitely recording restrictions on some of the rides. That doesn't mean people don't do it anyway.

If you're on Twitter, I'd maybe try to hit up Craig or Ryno. If you have a favorite vlogger, you could try that too - but make sure to ask them which rides that they are allowed to record on, not which they have actually managed to record. They are very likely different answers.

Ultimately, the best recommendation was made up thread - call or tweet at Universal and ask them.

ETA: I searched Universal Orlando's Twitter feed and they make it clear that GoPros are not allowed on any rides, but the most recent answer was 2019. See if this link works: https://twitter.com/search?q=(from:UniversalORL) gopro&src=typed_query

I know they do not allow cameras of any kind to be out on the last drop for Jurrassic Park River Adventure. I can't count how many times the T-Rex effect was over before we got to it because they stopped the boat to tell someone for a third time to put the camera away.
