What rides can I take my 15 month old on?

My son will be 15 months old when we go to Disney. Will I be able to take him on Pirates, the Pooh ride, Small World, and things of that nature? He's a quiet child, and he'll sit nicely (for a while, anyway... ). Are we kidding ourselves that he'll be able to go on these things?

You should be able to take him on all the rides you mention as well as Dumbo, the Jungle Cruise, the Haunted Mansion, and MANY others. You'll have an awesome time. There are plenty of very gentle things to do that he'll love!

Our DS2 was 18 months old last year when we went to WDW. He loved all the rides. You can take him on any rides that do not require a height restriction. The dis has a section about height restrictions that you can look up. DS2 went on everything he could. It was the shows that were hard for him. He had a tough time sitting through most of them and we could only do two or three a day. DS2 had a fun time and enjoyed all the action. For them, the few rides and shows are a lot.

My son who was 17 mo. when we went in June did great on everything. The only things he did not do was the roller coasters, Splash Mountain, Stitch's Great Escape, Astro Orbiter, & Indy Speedway. He loved the Winnie the Pooh play area. Hope this helps.

Our DS will be 10 months when we go in 2 weeks and we plan on taking him on everything we can. I think he will love Peter Pan's Flight!

You can go on everything that doesn't have a height requirement... which are...
Space, Splash, and Thunder Mnts... Stitch, Barnstormer (unless he's tall enough... which is usually around age 2, though!)...

Hmmm what am I missing?... that may be it!...

We took our 15 month old DD and 3 yr old DD last September. They had a great time. The 15 month old could ride a surprising amount of rides and loved them. The only thing she had a problem with was the costumed characters at the beginning of the week. By the end of the week she didn't want to leave them! We were going to go back to the hotel during the day and take a break with her (she still took naps), we ended up not doing it at all and it worked great for us. If she did fall asleep, she slept in the stroller. We brought our own for the 15 month old and rented one for the 3 yr old. We are going back in a couple of weeks (at the end of Sept.) and know that this year, they'll have an even better time.

We took our 14 month old last month and he rode almost everything, including Pirates, Buzz Lightyear, Jungle Cruise and Haunted Mansion. We're cruising next month and taking him back to MK the day before because he loved Small World so much.

He can go on may things. All of the ones you mentioned. Dumbo, alladin carpets dino swirl in ak, you will just have to sit with him. I love the blue people movers in MK. Go and see all of the movies. Ellen's energy adventure with dinosaurs is slow and not scarry. Figment next to heoney I shrunk the audience is great as well.

We took an 18 mo old last year and I was actually surprised at how many rides/attractions she was able to enjoy. I would read the section about kids and Disney in the unofficial guide.

As others have said, she was terrified of the costumed characters - we didn't even attempt any up close encounters. The princesses weren't terrifying, but there was no way she was going to hug Cinderalla like her big sis.

Honestly, I would not hesitate to take a toddler of that age - free admission to boot!

My DD went the first time at 15 months - I too thought she would be petrified of the costumed characters, but she jumped up and down, and screamed with excitement every time she saw one - all she wanted to do was hug them!!! (And still does, at 4 years old!) So each child is different.

We took her on everything as well, and she was fine with the exception of Pirates. She curled herself into my neck, and was petrified. Don't know what I was thinking, but you know as a parent, that whatever you assume they will do - well, they usually do the opposite! LOL

You'll be amazed at how many rides your 15 month old can ride. Our son was about that age the first time we took him. We quickly learned that he didn't like anything dark with loud noises. He buried his head on my during "Honey I shrunk the audience", the Bugs Life show at AKL, and through the entire Haunted Mansion. He had such a great time, that we realized this was the vacation spot for us. Where else can you go as a family of all different ages and everyone really have a great time. We loved the fact that we could do so many activities together that we all enjoyed. We've been once or twice a year ever since that trip. On our first day at MK, we stayed the whole day. He stayed awake and happy the whole day until the last firework. He was sound asleep before we made it out of the park. Those are some great memories. Have a wonderful trip.

Just wanted to agree with everyone else. There are many MORE rides that he can go on than rides he cannot.

We are leaving tomorrow with our 14-1/2 mo. DD, DS9 & DD6 . She will be riding everything without a height restriction, except for the Merry Go Round, she doesn't like those for some reason . We took her last year when she was 3 mo. and had no problems with any of the rides. Of course she didn't know what was going on last year but still loved It's a Small World so I can't wait to see her reaction this year. She loves Pooh so I'm sure we'll ride that several times.
