What Ride Would You Hate to Work?

The rafts to Tom Sawyer Island. Too much pressure. :scared: Plus there is no shade at all.

Edited to add: My favorite Job would be Pirates!! So cool and themey - I know not a real word but you get the idea. pirate:

It's a small world would give me a major migraine.
So would Tomorrowland Speedway - the smell of those engines - yuck!
Mission Space - anything that involves barf bags doesn't need to involve me...
Astro-orbiters - anything in the hot hot sun - no way.

The People Mover would be fun - but I think I would be saying those quotes in my sleep "NOW APPROACHING>>>>>>in that nasally sort of voice" but wait - I guess the CM doesn't hear those since they are triggered by the ride going by those spots...

I would love to work at Tower of Terror!

Definately Tomorrowland Speedway..........AACK!!!
I can't stand to fill up my own car because of the gasoline smell.....that would be the worst job. Hot hot hot + fumes = gagging.

I would hate to work on Mission Space. I would be terrified someone would pass their Mickey Mouse expiration date and expire on me.(If you now what I mean).

I admire the people who do work it because they have to worry every time a ride stops if all the riders will come out.

Like most of the others, I would not work at IASW or the Speedway.
But I also couldn't work at HM or TOT. I can't be like that. They never smile. I can't work in a place that won't let me smile.

Give me any job at Disney and I will do it with a smile on my face! I would be thrilled to be a Disney CM no matter what the job. :)

The one I would have hated when it was still up was the Skyway. I almost worked there too!!!!!!!!! Wow, would that have been a BAD idea as I'm a HUGE klutz. Can we all say "Workman's Comp?"

I would hate to work at the Teacups b/c of the puke and constant spinning would make me dizzy.

this isn't really a ride, but my friend Anthony is in the college program at disney. he said that they send all the people that arent i guess to put it nicely... up to par :rolleyes1 at AK. LOL.

having worked at all 4 parks, I'll just say that every park has it's good cast members, and bad castmembers, and they're all pretty evenly distributed.

I would take IASW anyday over the Speedway. After one summer at the Speedway, I never want to go back! It is about 10 degrees hotter down on the track, and the shorts, are a recent addition! When I worked there, no shorts. Trust me, the music at IASW, is better than the heat and gas fumes!

I don't think I'd do well on the ones where the ride vehicles move in a continuous loop and the CMs have to walk backwards, basically in place, on those moving sidewalks. I'd be all kinds of dizzy after a day walking backwards at Spaceship Earth. I'd be good at standing behind the little podium thingy, though!
I worked at a ride at another amusement park that I had to walk on all day long - it was the best shape I was ever in and as skinny as I ever was - I should do it again now!!!!!!!

It also had an annoying song (it was a smurf ride and I heard la la la la la la la la la) ALL DAY LONG - but I really didn't hear it after a few minutes)

I would hate to work a REALLY popular line with long lines and fast passes - b/c people would be so crabby by the time they got to the front of the line and complaining about the people who didn't have to wait in line!!!!!

I would also hate to work a ride that breaks down a lot!!!

As much as I love Splash Mountain.... I would never work in an attraction that I would have to be outdoors in the hot sun.

Just a little side note about the Fantasyland rides- for the most part you don't get stuck at any one ride during the day. You get rotated around all the rides.

I have to agree with the poster who said that they send the 'not up to par' CM's to AK. I spent a couple of hours over by KS with a CM waiting and then watching the parade.

He was obviously "not up to par" as he was slightly ********. He could see no bad with the world or anything. He loved his job, loved greeting the people at the turnstiles, loved spending time with us and telling us about his friends in the parade (who all waved and called him by name as they passed by), and just plain loved his life. His greatest dream is to be a character but he is a mid size, between the small characters and the large characters and this woman who was blessed to have gotten to know him hopes that his dream comes true one day.

From now on I will enjoy AK even more for knowing that such 'flawed' people ( Hi Eric!! :lmao: ) are the people in charge at AK.

I will take slightly flawed service with a smile any day over quick service given in a spirit of discontent.

This is true. When I worked there there was a couple of different rotations you could work. One was Peter Pan Carousel Dumbo Snow white-- the other was Winnie the Pooh, Tea Cups, Dumbo. Small World was always in its own rotation (takes more CM's to run it) and each ride had its own rotation within the ride if it took more than one CM to run (ie Peter Pan had a load and an unload). When I started training, the rotation was the hardest thing to train.

oh good god. what did i start? i wasn't saying that all the sucky people get assigned to work in AK. one i was trying to make a silly joke. apparently it wasn't silly. and two. i said that my friend anthony said that. it was an off the cuff remark. where did it say that i think that all the people that work in AK suck. and PLEASE DON'T GET ME STARTED ON PEOPLE THAT ARE SLIGHTLY ********. MY SISTER HAS CEREBRAL PALSY. AND WHILE ITS MILD. ITS STILL THERE. SHE CAN NEVER DRIVE. SHE HAS NO PERPHIRAL VISION. AND WHILE I MAY OF SLIGHTLY MADE FUN OF HER FOR TAKING THE SHORT BUS TO SCHOOL ONCE OR TWICE.. ( sometimes we got into horrible fights.. shes my sister, what can i say? ) I LOVE MY SISTER TO DEATH. AND I WOULD KICK ANYONES BUTT IF YOU DARED TO MAKE FUN OF HER. and just for the record. my dad has chrone's disease, cancer AND parkinson's ( also showing signs of Alhzimers...) and he's only 59. AND my mom also has cancer too. but that was just for the record. im sorry. but it makes me really mad when people take things i say out of context. but then again, its no wonder i grew up misunderstood.

Odds are that on most rides you would work you would have to be outside at some point of the day. Most of the greeter positions are outside.

Take it from personal experience, cleaning up human restrooms is a THOUSAND times worse than cleaning horse dung! :lmao:

As someone who had to clean up after the horses a couple of times when they had the Mulan parade at MGM- nope, don't get paid big bucks at all

Also, as someone who had to clean bathrooms at MGM - I'd take cleaning up after the horses any day...... the horses are less disgusting to clean up after!

Speedway would be the worse. All those kids that want to go and all those parents who are just there for the kids.

IASW the song would make me want to slam my head into a wall :rotfl2:
