What restaurant actually lived up to the hype?

And which restaurant is dogged that you actually really loved?

Le Cellier was hyped back in the day (still is) and we were able to go for dinner in '04. We loved it! We are finally going back in April, this time for lunch. At the very least I hope to get the bread and Cheese Soup.

The other great one is Boma. Had heard so much about it and it's now my favorite, after only one time eating there. It will always be on my to-eat list.

As for dogged restaurants, I always enjoyed Coral Reef but it has been a few years.

Kouzzina's has gotten some pretty harsh reviews, but it was our favorite meal last December. We talked about it all week.

As far as the hype, I would have to say Cali Grill lived well up to my expectations!

Upcoming trip were trying Narcoosee's and Kouzzina. and a few old favorites.

We loved Chefs de France last year. We went because of Remy but ended up loving the food and the atmosphere. We had Kouzzina last year, traveled all the way from Kidani to the Boardwalk in pouring rain and it was just ok though the service was absolutely the best by far we have ever experienced including giving us warm towels to dry off and the chef and manager meeting with us to see how we liked everything. We were there early Sept.

Hyped but we dislike: Brown Derby (food good not excellent, 2 separate trips with awful service)

One that lived up to all the hype for us was Les Chefs at lunch. We loved it.

When we went to Ohana for the first time it was getting dogged big time. We loved it though.

Now Teppen Edo is loved by many but we just didn't see what was so special about it at all. Our local places are ten times better for food and entertainment.

Ohana lived up to the hype for me, ate their twice last year and headed back for thirds in May. I love those shrimp!

Didn't quite live up to the hype: Chef Mickey's. It was good, and my son loved it, but it wasn't the life-altering experience others said it was

Dogged, and we agree: Whispering Canyon Cafe. Never again....

For us, Flying Fish lived up to and exceeded the hype. It's on our top 5 list of all-time dining experiences.
