I'm planning a trip in November. Trying to do this cheaply. Have been to 1 Moderate Resort and really enjoyed it but was thinking about checking out the Value Resorts this time. I have never been to any of them. Have a 7 year old girl and I know she would love either Movies or the New Pop Century. Would it be wise to go to the Movies till the Pop Century buzz dies down? Will the Pop Century be packed? What is the favorite for most and why? Thanks for everything in advance. Rhonda

I've stayed at Allstar Music and Allstar Movies. Music was my favorite. It simply seemed quieter. Movies seemed to have more teenagers. I love the themeing of Allstar Music. My DD was 8 when we went to Music, and she loved wandering around. I liked the pools better there too. I think the Allstars are great for kids.

Just realized that I really didn't answer your question. I'd try for Pop Century, but not be disappointed if it's booked. I think your daughter would like Movies.

rharris,

My vote is for Pop Century. I say try and stay there while it's new if you can get in. Why not? My DS (5) and DN (6) loved the Pop Century went we went this past February. ::yes::

As far the All Stars, we haven't ever stayed there but used the Movies as a back up when we looked into the Pop Century. I would do this again but I doubt it would ever be my first choice. (hope i didn't offend anyone)

Also, fiveforall, is it possible you were at the Movies during one of those cheerleading championships or something? I am pretty sure those go on in December. :teeth:

When in November are you going? If it is one of the off season times you might be able to get a great room cheap. I think the question to ask as a new thread is "What is the best value anyone has ever gotten on a room in November?"

Yes, yes, LOL. I got sidetracked. Also, where do you live so maybe we can help with some ideas about codes.

Thanks so much. I live in Cincinnati, Ohio and I'm thinking about the dates of November 6- 13. Any more info would be greatly appreciated. Rhonda

Rhonda,

Well, your dates are in "value" season which is a good start. So even if you pay full price the values should be about $77 tops (non-preferred). Now if you can find a code that you are eligible for, you might be able to get the room for anywhere from $49 on up. I don't want to get your hopes up too much though cos I am a Florida Resident and a passholder so the rates I remember are probably different for you. Depending on what sort of ticket media you plan on using, atleast one annual pass might end up being worth the discount you could get. :teeth:

Hope this helps you.............

My 6 year old daughter loved it! It has a wonderful, energetic vibe and is full of families. It got us into the Disney mood right away! Check-in wasn't bad, even though the resort was very crowded (I think the key is to try to avoid checking in between 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. :) . During our short wait in line to check-in, some of the cast members were dancing to "Do the Hustle!"

The main pool is filled with kids, they do hair wraps nearby (very popular with girls of all ages)... Tip: get her hair wrapped the day you arrive so she can "show it off" during the trip. My daughter was so proud of it! :teeth:

I've heard a lot of people say that they thought the Pop didn't feel as spread out as the All Stars. The food isn't the greatest, but for breakfasts & snacks it is fine. Eat lunch in the parks and make some good dinner reservations!

We paid $84.00 per night for a preferred room earlier this month. You should be able to get cheaper for November. Also, if you don't mind a little walking, get a standard room and save an extra $10 per night! HAVE FUN! :sunny:
