hey firstly I want to post what a put on the cruise forum so I get a fair reply by putting on WDW forum to. Here's what I put

hey everyone

Me and my partner both late 20s with no kids keep changing our mind about what to do for my 30th in 2018

In 2015 we done the one week med cruise was great and In Dec 2015 we done 11 nights in the parks and stayed at the Hilton. We really loved both so...

In Feb 2017 we are going the weeks western carribean cruise and five days in the parks, can't wait and plan in getting engaged on this trip

However we need to start saving for our holiday in 2018 now and it's between

1 - doing the med cruise again and having a few nights in Barca, 10 nights total, we wouldn't do somewhere else in Europe as it would not be hot enough for us, its cold enough here in Scotland lol and going anywhere further makes the airfare to much

2- 14 nights in a Disney mod hotel, and Probley get the free dinning and do things we haven't done on previous trips like, sea world, Disney water parks etc and Probley go at a lot slower pace lol

Beleive it or not by the time we stay a few nights in Barca, transport, excursions, etc both trips are coming to about the same price, doing both land and sea again is defo not possible as it's addded up to way to much for us to ever do again

We keep changing back and for, as we love both, the cruise is so special and we love been at sea, but the parks and staying in a Disney hotel this time with the free dinning and going for longer as going long hal seems really good too

We are totally stuck and we really not to stop messing about and just pick one lol however what do you think ?

Secondly I am leaning mybe a wee bit towards the parks however if I go for that what would you pick between

14 nights value Resort

10 nights mod

Or 7 nights delux

We are coming from the Uk to, and what Resort would u pick

I look forward to your replys

Honestly, if you want to add additional Florida attractions into the trip, you might want to stay the 14 days. 10 days at least. I go fairly often and I find anything under 7 days is rushed. If you have not been in a while, and are planning 2018 there should be plenty of new attractions that you have not experienced before. If you choose a deluxe for 7 days, I doubt you would have time to enjoy the amenities offered, so that would be money not well spent for this trip, IMO.

I would watch to see what the 2017 discounts shake out to be, but plan on budgeting as if there were none. Disney continues to offer discounts, but the rack rates continue to rise, so I always plan for the worst. I know you get the discounts offered earlier, so you will have a good idea what the following year may bring.

Cool and what trip would u pick between them

I agree with Nancyg56. We're staying 9 nights next year and the schedule is filled with WDW-only activities, with only 5 park days! If you want to visit other Orlando attractions without feeling like you never get a chance to sit down, go value for 14 nights.

If I were deciding, I'd cut out traveling around the Orlando area and spend 10 nights at a Mod because of the amenities. I've had no problem coming up with things to do at WDW for my family. My non-park list includes...
Shopping and dining in Disney Springs on arrival day, then pool time for the kids and a relaxing dinner at the resort.
Monorail resort hopping and snacking, to end at FW with dinner, a wagon ride, and the Campfire Sing-a-long.
Another DS day to try one of the new places, swimming during the hot hours, Yeeha Bob's show at POR
We're staying at a different resort for the second half so the kids will enjoy a day at the YC/BC pool complex and then a resort character meal or a nice dinner, TBD.
On departure day, we'll have a filling breakfast and take our time re-packing the minivan :crazy2:

Would splitting between a value and a moderate allow you some extra days? It's not for everyone, but given the distance you're traveling I'd think you'd want maximize the length of your trip while experiencing different levels of resort amenities.

Stay away from the values as a couple no kids, especially for that length. You inevitably will end up spending some amount of time at the hotel/pool and I'm willing to be you would be much happier with much prettier surroundings. On top of that, moderates are really the only way the free dining promotion is worth it. That said, if you come at the right time you could get a deluxe for not too much (I've had the Boardwalk around $250 before), and that way you are closer to everything. So, to sum up my longwinded answer, I'd go at least for the moderate, but keep your eyes open for much better deluxe options.

Sounds like the 10 nights mod would be better. What mod would u guys pick

And would anyone pick the cruise instead ?

Only you and your partner can pick between WDW and a cruise.
I would definitely recommend WDW and I would choose. POR.

I think that I would choose the WDW trip, and take a cruise another time.

2 adults? CSR hands down. CSR is a business class resort, so the theme is not screaming Disney, but it is there. The resort has a nice lounge, several dining options, and a great pool. This resort is sometime regarded as Deluxe Lite, becuase it has more amenities that some of the other moderates. It also sometimes come in as a less expensive resort that the other moderates.

CSR is gorgeous, with beautiful grounds and a lake in the center that is stunning during the day with the buildings reflecting in the water, as well as at night. The pool is really awesome as well.

If you think about this resort, consider booking Business Class. This is an upgrade that puts uyou in a preferred building and allows access to the lounge with a little Breakfast, snacks and beer and sangria.

It's reported that Business Class is going away and may not return. Those booked for it in early 2017 are being moved to Club Level Animal Kingdom.

This. No values. Definitely CSR. Best moderate amenities, beautiful grounds and lake, very chill resort vibe, no shared buses, great for couples (we've stayed there twice, including earlier this month for our anniversary.) Use the savings from not staying at a deluxe for a luxurious food or merchandise budget.

I'd go with a Moderate. I love CSR. I would DEFINITELY not stay at a value for that length of time. with 10 days, you'd have a chance to do some other non WDW stuff: Sea World, Universal....... No, I would never choose a cruise. But I have no desire to ever go on a cruise. I'd almost choose any vacation over anything involving a cruise.

I would pick less days in a deluxe hotel. We have stayed at almost every moderate on property. They are fine, but you spend a lot of time getting to things. We have never stayed at values - I have friends with horrible stories about massive cheer/sports/band groups at those hotels. As a friend of mine says, "It's Disney does Motel 6."

We only stay at the Contemporary these days - and for the past 10 years or so. It is so much nicer than the moderates that I would rather spend less days (or save a bit harder and get a few more days) than stay somewhere else. No matter how awful the parks have been on some days, the hotel is always outstanding. Plus - there are some good specials floating around.

We just got back last week. The monorails were down for almost 12 hours on one day. At the Contemporary, this was not a problem. You just walk over to the MK. It is the best. I don't mind paying more if I feel I get more.

I would do seven days in a deluxe, especially if you are celebrating a birthday and getting engaged. The GF or AKL are magnificently themed and lovely for a romantic trip. The GF has the better transportation and gorgeous lobby and grounds while the AKL has the amazing savannah. Unless you have Africa on your bucket list, there's nothing like sitting by the firepit or on your balcony watching a giraffe go by. I would plan a 7 day romance trip...maybe dinner at Monsieur Paul or V&A, a spa day, or private fireworks cruise. We love the Disney water parks and mini-golf for non-theme park days. If you want to stay moderate, I would choose POR. I've never stayed there, but I have visited the resort and it is very pretty. (DH just prefers not to stay in resorts where your room has a door directly to the outside.) As for Seaworld and the non-Disney attractions, they almost always made me wish that I'd spent the day at a Disney theme park instead.

Well we are doing three nights in CSR in our Feb trip so think I would like a different hotel for the following year. Everyone is making POR to sound the best for us

Than the other part of me is thinking should we do the med cruise again

Aghhh why is this so hard lol
