we will be staying for a few nights after our cruise, however this will be Dec 21-24. I know the parks will be crazy busy so we will probably only spend 1/2 days at the park, than go and enjoy our resort. We will have a 10 year old, also considering staying in club level, it’s only 3 nights so why not.
It we don’t have to stay club level or even a deluxe I will consider a moderate as long as there are things to do.
Also transportation to these parks 1) MK, AK and HS since those are the 3 we will see
We might not rent a car and I have an ECV

Im open to all suggestions, slim chance my sis and her 10 year old will join, she wants to stay at POFQ, that resort I know nothing about and since she isn’t willing to put her deposit down I am just going forward with my plans
Ideas??! And thx!

We went in June 2018 and from activity guide here are a few possibilities: Hourly- 7a-8p there are resort cultural activities and guided tours at both Jambo and Kidani, 8a-10p animal programs, lunch w/animal specialist and tours ($$) scheduled thru Disney, pool activities 1p-8p, culinary tours and a wine tasting, and finally movies under the stars nightly. Then there is the animal viewing from room or observation areas. It has the most unique gift shop. The food choices are very good too w/Boma, Jinko, etc..

I can only speak from experience with the Deluxe resorts, but AKL immediately comes to mind when reading your post (except for the transportation to the parks part) - generally speaking it has more resort activities than other places (although do some research to see if they appeal to you/your 10 year old). Also not many are dependent on the pool, since weather could be a factor that time of year. CL at AKL is also a personal favorite as well (and is the often the cheapest CL option among the resorts).

I have never been on a cruise... but if I'm looking for a place to spend some time winding down after a more hectic/busy part of a vacation, AKL fits the bill for us.

Animal Kingdom Lodge has a lot of activities. You might want to consider this one because of the animals and how many things there are to do. If you were going to Epcot then I would suggest the Yacht and Beach Club since you wouldn't need to use a bus to get to Epcot and DHS and they have a lot of activities, too.

I like Boardwalk for busy times of year. They have activities at the pool, and they also have an awesome Community Center with ping-pong, pool, foosball, pinball, and all kinds of video games, board games, free video rental, and other crafts and activities. Plus, it's right on the Boardwalk, so great for walking around the lake, getting ice cream, and people watching. There are magic and other shows on the Boardwalk at night, as well as carnival games. You can rent surrey bikes. You can also easily walk over to Epcot and go in the back door, avoiding the massive bag check lines at the front entrance.

I want to thank you all for your comments, I was actually thinking those two maybe our best options. I am going to compare the two price wise and look to see what they have to offer in their Club Level.
The activities at both sound amazing!!!

Another vote for AKL with its activities as well as for a great CL. GADisneyDad14 said it all, I think!! And WEDWDW put the icing on the cake!

IF you consider a moderate, then POR is a good choice with lots of activities and boat to DS. It has horse and buggy rides, Surrey bike rentals, fishing, evening entertainment, TS dining, great food court, themed swimming hole, lots of 'quiet' pools, access to POFQ AMENITIES including swimming pool and three distinct areas to stay in: royal rooms, mansions or preferred alligator bayou/standard alligator bayou. POR has more activities than POFQ, but whichever you stay in is just a 10 min walk along the river to the other and you are welcome to use the facilities at both when staying at either one. POFQ really doesn't have many activities but a pool and splash pad (more for small children, IMO) and a food court, so I would be inclined to stay in POR of the two.

If your sis decides to join she could stay at either POR or POFQ and still do everything with you at both resorts. Or she might find POR a nice compromise between POFQ and the deluxe CL that you are considering.

Good luck choosing!
