What regrets do you have/mistakes made re: DVC purchase?

I failed to bank my points in time

I have an Aug. use year and had a senior moment and forgot to bank them by March 31.

Now a question: Can I use them for a trip after August provided I make the reservation before August?
Or must I use them for a trip that concludes by August?

The points have to be available during the timeframe of the reservation -- when you call to book the ressie is irrelevant.

If you failed to bank a substantial number of points, I would call MS and ask to speak to a supervisor. Explain what happened and ask if they can help. Talk nice.

They will sometimes grant a "super-secret once-in-a-lifetime exception" and let you bank the points.

Yes, as the PP said, you must use them for a reservation with a last night before 8/1/11 (7/30/11 would be OK, checking out 8/1, but not the night of 8/1).

You can also give the rent/trade board here a try. I don't think I've ever gone more than 24 hours before I've rented the points I've posted there!

Thank you for the suggestion. I just got off the phone with Member Services and that is exactly what they did.

Again, thank you. I was really bummed out when I realized my mistake.

I am back to having no regrets.
