So in order to save money I am using a Groupon to get my 1st brazilian blowout tomorrow for $100. I presume the salon will want me to purchase aftercare ACAI products..shampoo and conditioner..etc. I also presume there will be a markup in price since it is a high end salon.
Anyone have experience in buyng these products online? Legit sites?
I am hesitant as not all online drugstore/salon sites are considered authorized and I want the correct products
Any advice for this newbie would be appreciated???
Thanks!

I dont know much about the products,

But, I do know you should ask how long to anticipate the blow out to last. Some formulas are stronger and can last upto 6 months, others are weaker and last only up to 3-4 weeks.

I almost purchased a blowout from a living social deal in my town. I called the salon and it was one of the weaker formulas for 3-4 weeks of results for $100. But I knew better, everywhere around here has the 3-4 week formula for $70-75.

I'm a Brazilian Blowout devotee - I'm assuming you're getting the one with the actual name Brazilian Blowout? I can't help much with their line of aftercare products because my dear friend owns a salon - I get a nice discount. But I will say that it's worth the investment in BB leave-in conditioner and BB conditioning masque; both last a long time and I've found nothing else better. For shampoo and daily conditioner, though, I really like the Ion line at Sally Beauty Supply: shampoo and conditioner.

It's critical that you use nothing with sulfates in it after getting the BB, regardless of which brand of products you use.

The "real" Brazilian Blowout (as in that name-brand) can last up to 12 weeks well, longer for some folks. I only make it about 9 weeks, but I live in FL and have very poofy hair!

Yes it is the "Brazilian blowout"...normally costs $300. thanks for the recommendation of the sally's ion products...much better price!

Anyone have the Zero formula done.....the one with no formaldehyde. I am concerned it won't last as long for my very frizzy curly hair

Yes... DON'T DO IT!!!! I need my "hyde", lol! The free version did nothing at all.

Important thing is to use sulfate free products. I'm a devotee of the Coppola Complex keratin treatment...can't wait to get it done again Saturday!!!

The Brazilian Blowout brand of the heavy conditioner/mask is great. I also like Morrocan Oil shampoo/conditioner. You can try Amazon or drugstore.com.

Sally's has their own brand of Morrocan Oil shampoo and conditioner that I use sometimes, it's AMAZING!
