Cleveland Indians game, sometime in the early 80's. We would win a free ticket for selling a certain number of raffle tickets for Little League.

Pretty much - that's why they gave away so many tickets. To hope that a few of them actually showed up.

For me, according to family, it was an Atlanta Braves MLB game in the late 1980's that had a postgame concert by The Beach Boys. I was probably 4 or 5 years old at the time.

A couple of years ago Quicken Loans (where my oldest works) had their entire workforce go to a Tiger game to "fill" up the stands.

Oakland A's back when they were winning ws quite a bit or maybe it was the San Francisco Giants. I don't know which.

We went to Indians games all the time in the 70s and 80s. You could always go last minute and tickets were cheap .

The Columbus Clippers was our local AAA baseball team. We could win tickets through school for -- I don't even remember what. Reading a certain number of books maybe? (It was something I would do anyway. I always got the tickets but I never "tried" for them.)

The first major league professional sports event that I went to was also baseball. My father's company used to be headquartered in Cincinnati. Every summer they would have a 'family day" for the employees' families. They seemed to switch off between a day at Kings Island (amusement park) or a Cincinnati Reds baseball game. Both were fun, but I was always excited when it was Kings Island year!

Baseball. The Montreal Expos who no longer exist. Went with a friend and her coworkers in the 90s.

When I lived in Barcelona I spontaneously bought a ticket for an FC Barcelona match because I felt like I had to when I lived there. I bought it the night before the match and thought they were kind of expensive but I had never been to a sporting event before, so I didn't know if that was normal. I found out the next day I had bought tickets for the final of La Liga.

It was a pretty awesome first football/soccer match.
