Since the DVC began, perks have come and gone, but if you had a choice on what perks you'd like to see, what would they be?

My choices would be:

1) A DVC owner only dining discount of 25% or a free TIW card (I'd prefer our own program).

2) A 20% discount on park tickets for family and friends.

3) A 20% discount on merchandise at ALL disney retail areas.

4) A special viewing area for fireworks and parades for DVC owners.

5) A 25% discount on watercraft rentals.

I'm sure the rest of you can come up with some others to add to this wish list!

Oooh! They all sound wonderful!! Have they ever done anything like that before?

I don't want to get flamed, since there will be a lot of posts about how perks are not guaranteed. But I would love being able to have discounts on park tickets. As grandparents, we bought in to DVC to take our grandchildren, as well as our children. We can buy passes at the local zoo and museums that allow grandparents to be admitted with all of their grandchildren. When we plan a trip to WDW, it would be great if we could atleast get a discount on their tickets.

One other perk that I would love to have, wouldn't cost Disney a dime. That would be for DVC Members and the guests staying with them on points, to be issued Fast Passes, or Front of the Line Passes, to be used at all the parks. That could be done by using the room keys marked as DVC Members.

I'd love for us to be able to make our ADRs at 180 days out while everyone else has the 90 days. :cool1:

AP's or park hoppers of some sort that are good for both WDW and DL. We would like to go to DL again sometime but instead, we keep returning to DW because of the AP discount. I don't want to re-buy tix in order to go to a different coast!!!! I really think DVC members should be able to go to any US park with one tix.

I would like:

Ultimate Fast Passes for Every Park!

Discounts on:

Park Tickets
Merchandise (clothing, especially)
Dining

I agree with getting discounts on Park Passes for other quests in you party. I would also like to get a discount on dining. We like to try different resturants and not all are covered by the TIW.

Since it must apparently be considered a "perk" these days: MS personnel who actually understand the DVC system.

Being able to purchase the TiW card without APs would be nice.

More concierge rooms, but I am not sure if that qualifies as a perk. I think that they underestimated the demand for that type of room. I would think that it would be a relatively easy thing to setup for the other resorts, especially the hotel styled ones.

Lifetime DVC refillable mug, free trash and towel service. I'd even be willing to bring my wet towels to a location and pick up new ones myself. Not having enough towels is my only complaint about staying in studios. I'd also like to always have dining discounts for our home resort or whatever resort you stay at on points.

None of those are realistic. Nothing that costs DVC money will be considered. THe only perks we get are ones designed to generate money for DVC. EG selected discounts at restaurants they cant fill, at times when no one is there & Discounts on Annual passes which incentivize members to come more often, thus spending more money!

All of your ideas either cost DVC money or is a logistical nightmare and therefore are non starters. We need to think of things that are perks but dont cost money.

I say, 1 instant fastpass per member card per day. Costs nothing, but makes members feel special.

I agree, that would be a very nice one.

Concierge isn't going to happen. The only reason they have the five lock off two bedrooms Concierge villas at Jambo House was because they wanted to get rid of them and if they were losing all the other concierge rooms on the fifth floor to DVC, DVC would have to take those as well. They were the old smoking rooms for concierge. They have poor views. Since they are located on the same floor as the concierge lounge, they had to have concierge services as well unless DVC wanted to block them off from the lounge, but that would block the view from the lounge to the savanna.

To change the room categories at the existing resorts would take a major overhaul of the system at that resort.

1. Some special fast pass benefit for DVC members and their guests.

2. Discount on the dining plans.

3. DVC refillable mug that can be used on multiple trips at a discount.

4. AP's that last 13 months.

True, but as with the point reallocation earlier this year, we know that they are more than capable of adjusting points.

And with the addition of the HH at OWK, we know that they can add different booking categories.

Put the two together, and voila! :D

I am surprised they didn't put it in BLT when they were building it.

Concierge addition would require more than just reallocating points or renaming a location for the same points. Even AKV Concierge has a different points scale than the rest of the other villas. They would have to build the concierge lounge out of space already used for villas at existing resorts. They would have to create an entirely new points scale for concierge rooms, plus extra cost for services and staff would add to member dues at that resort.

OKW Hospitality House location and BWV BW view both required no change in the points required. Concierge would. Otherwise members at that resort would be up in arms when they didn't get concierge because they had to use the exact same number of points as the concierge villas.

The only way this will happen is at an entirely new DVC resort or a new addition to an existing DVC resort.

them benefiting from more DVCr's dining at TS restaurants, more owners bringing friends and relatives to the parks due to discounted tickets, which in tern brings more revenue for park tickets, food, discounts on merchandise that leads to more sales on very high profit merchandise, more people, when exposed to the DVC, that decide to become owners....and spend lots of money for the next 50 years.

They used to give park tickets, free golf and other perks...and thise had to cost something.

I'd like to see a deal with the airlines (AirTran are you listening?) which gives us one bag to check in for free per DVC family member plus opens up flights for us at an earlier time than others, since we like to book well in advance.

It would be nice to have a free dining period just for DVC members. I would also like to see discounts on park passes not just annual passes...........HEY I am allowed to dream too:lmao:

All in all if it is owned by Disney then they lose no money. Like Park tickets, Fast Passes or Reservations at 180 days out. We own quite a few points and it is crazy to me that they don't give you a shirt, sticker or even a liscense plate. Would this not promote DVC and actually save them money. But regardless this was not an issue when we bought into it and it definatly is not a deal breaker for me. But some perks would be nice, considering the park is already open so it is not like they have to staff it.
