I know there have to be books or sites out there that give you tips on what parks are least or more crowded on each day. I was wondering if they all pretty much say the same thing or do they all give you different opinions? Does the time of year change the days that the parks are most crowded? I'm just wondering where I would be able to obtain the most acurate info on this matter.
Thanks

I have read that often parks are more crowded on Extra Magic Hour days & that if you go to a park the day AFTER Extra Magic Hour that it may be a lot less crowded. I've also read that the water parks are more crowded toward the end of the week & definitely on the weekends (a lot of locals come on the weekends), so maybe a good strategy would be to visit a water park on a Mon-Wed. Magic Kingdom is supposed to be crowded on Mondays (in addition to the weekend & on Extra Magic Hour days). In our experience, Magic Kingdom was always crowded when we were there, regardless of the day of the week. MGM & Epcot seem a lot less crowded, especially in the morning hours. Recently, we were at AK on a Saturday & it was VERY crowded!

Overall stats on the parks - generally less crowded Mon-Thurs.

Also, I've read that Disney Quest in downtown Disney is very crowded when it rains & that the water parks are almost empty when it rains (if there is thunderstorm activity, I think they close, though).

As a veteran WDW traveling family, it's not the day of the week that is important, it's the time of the year you go and any holidays that may fall within your visit.
For example, if you go in a busy season, the Parks will be busy each and every day all day. Then you plan a strategy that works for your family. When we go in the summer, we hit the Parks in late morning and then stay to close them down. After 8pm you can do almost any attraction without a wait. We sometimes don't get back to our room until after midnight--this plan works well for us now because we have teenagers. When the kids were little, we'd pull them out of school and go
in an off-season, such as January. we would get up early and hit the Parks early because of the earlier close times. Then after the close, we'd go shopping at DTD or schedule a later PS somewhere so that we didn't spend alot of time back in our room. It was earlier to bed for us in the off-season as well.

WDW ON JUNE 24  :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsgirl:

I've read that September is a good month to go..since the crowds seem to be minimal?? We'll be there in Sept...I'm set on going to MK on sunday and according to the link that was provided, it says it's the worst day to go....i'll try our luck..

I just have to go to MK on the first day.....

I believe that both "The Unofficial Guide to WDW" and the "Birnbaum's Official Guide to WDW" show graphs/charts of historic park attendance and the like. We have used that in the past to plan our vacations.........Yup, I just checked my 2004 Unofficial guide.... starting on page 32 it lists average annual attendance and comments on which parks to avoid on which days and such. I personally HIGHLY recommend to the book to anyone who asks!! Have a great day.................P

I think part of the reason Mondays are listed in many resources as a busy day for the MK is because Monday used to be EE (EMH) day for the MK. Mondays were also considered a "1st day for parks" for many visitors and MK is often the 1st park to visit. I don't know how much of this comes into play.

You should also consider what events are scheduled for the specific time you will visit WDW. For example, if there are only a couple of special parades during the week in the MK, then those days may be more crowded as many guests will choose those days to visit.
