I can't seem to find my old maps that show all of WDW. Where is CBR located? Which park is closest, if any? How about approximate bus ride times to parks. Are there lots of different stops thru-out the resort?

Thanks for any info.

Anna

CBR is centrally located. There are several bus stops, but I haven't heard any complaints about slow bus service. I think the bus stops at Jamaica section first.

It's right down the road from MGM (but not walkable). Epcot is pretty close too, you can see the top of Spaceship Earth and the high fireworks from Illuminations from outside OPR and some of the villages.

CBR is just about across the street from the back of the American Pavilion at Epcot. (However, you can't walk it.)

It's also just down the road a bit from MGM as DebbieB said and a bit further in the other direction will bring you to Typhoon Lagoon and DD.

www.wdwinfo.com has maps of the resort showing the bus stops and also a layout map of WDW.

By car or bus, it takes less time to get to/from MGM from CBR than any other theme park. One evening after Fantasmic (ended at 9:30pm) we were back at CBR by 9:43pm. We sat in the back of the Fantasmic dinner package section, made a quick exit out the farthest right (when facing stage) exit and got on the first tram to the parking lot.

Epcot would be the next closest. None of the parks can be walked to from CBR though.

CBR is the closest to MGM, but it really isn't within walking distance to any park, as walking along the major highways is "big time" discouraged. The bus ride to MGM is about 5 minutes, and can be 10-15 to Epcot, 15-20 to MK, and 15-20 to AK.

There are 7 bus stops at CBR. There are 2 different routes that the buses take, depending on which gate they come in.

Thanks very much - that helps. I may plan to do Epcot and MGM while we are there.

When Kermit says "7 bus stops" does that mean my bus will stop at all those stops?

Thanks,

Anna

Caribbean Beach is centrally located, which provides quick transportation. As stated in previous posts, the Disney/MGM Studios is about 5 minutes away. Epcot and Animal Kingdom are about 8 minutes, and MK is about 13 minutes. Add about 3-5 minutes for the EC, AK and MK bus if the bus is an "A-Side" bus, as traffic on BVD can slow things down.

There are seven stops within CBR. The stops are:

A Side:
Martinique
Calypso (Old Port Royale)
Trinidad North
Trinidad South

B Side:
Jamaica
Aruba
Barbados (Custom House)

If the bus is an A Side bus, it will do M, C/O, TN, TS, J, A, B/CH.

If the bus is a B Side bus, it will do J, A, B/CH, M, C/O, TN, TS

A "B-Side" bus can do a round trip from the Magic Kingdom in about 32 minutes. This includes travel TO the resort, all 7 stops, and then travel back to the MK. So, you figure an average of 15 minutes.

Also, note that CBR uses MOD (Magic On Demand) in the morning, so if a bus fills up prior to finishing all the stops, they'll dispatch another bus. In the afternoon, busses are Flex dispatched to alternate which side. Often times, you might see one MK bus, and then another MK bus 2 mins later.

Yes, that does mean that your bus will stop at all 7 stops! Of course, not every stop has people waiting to board, and if there are no people, the bus will slow, but not stop.
