What park would you skip?

I'm another shocked person at the number of votes for AK...my kids LOVE it, but they are all young. Still, though, I would skip The Studios...way more shows there than rides. Only a few thrill rides..ToT, Rockin' Roller Coaster, Star Tours (which isn't that much of a thrill)...any other major ones there? Can't think of any...

My ds son 11 loves AK. When I told him everyone said skip AK he thought you all were crazy. He also loves WS at Epcot! While he loves the thrill rides he prefers things with more intelligence and substance I geuss. He said he could skip MGM except for Indiana Jones, he CAN'T miss that!!( Indie is his hero, an adventurer with a PHD, ds wants to be just like him )

I need to get park tickets for DS and he will be missing one park. My sister is taking him to Universal for the day. While my niece and I will stay at Disney and go to a park.

Which one do you think a 14 year old boy would like to miss? I am thinking Animal Kingdom.

Animal Kingdom.

The Lodge is fine, but the park is boring IMHO.

If I were you, instead of skipping an entire park, I'd hop, and skip certain attractions. I personally love AK, but I think you could easily hit the highlights in less than a day. You can do most of the park during the EMH hours, if that is a possibility for you. We like to combine Epcot with MGM becuase they are so close, but if I had to choose a place to cut, I'd do an AK/MGM combo day. Your 14 year old probably won't get that much out of The Little Mermaid, Playhouse Disney, or Beauty and the Beast. (though I think he might like the Lion King show at AK - lots of acrobatics!) Try using the "teens" feature of the Disney website ("Choose your Experience") to focus your choice of rides. Even at $35, we feel the hop feature is an important investment.

Make sure he rides Spiderman and The Mummy at Universal

hi
with apologies to animal kingdom lovers this would be the park i would leave out, only 16 days- hope to do everything :cool1: :cheer2:  :cool1:

We were trying to decide which one to leave out too. I asked my kids that same question and they looked at me like I was from outer space!
I guess when we go, we are suppose to visit each park!

I agree w/ AK - My 14 yo son can cover what he wants to do there in about 3 hours. LOL

He LOVES Epcot and MGM, though! (and of course, MK!!)

We just got back from WDW last week. Without a question, I would leave out Animal Kingdom for the 14 yr. old. I had two 12 year boys with me. After Kali River Rapids, they were bored-stiff! My husband's least favorite park too. Says its always so much hotter than the others. Now, my little 4yr. old daughter and I love this park and wouldn't miss visiting it. I don't like the fact that you have to shell out more money to play the carnival games in Dinoland. They should come up with a system of receiving a number of tokens with each park entry.

OMG!...so true...if you have a 14 year old boy that likes thrill rides...he will have a much better time at Islands of Adventure or Busch Gardens (super, SUPER rollercoasters and one (in my estimation, sick lol) ride that turns you upside down after rocking you for 3-4 times...plus Busch has a bumpercar venue that is almost a walkon during anytime but peak season (summer and Christmas)....er, and you can't beat those 2 free beers at the hospitality house included with admission...
