Planning my trip and looking to see which park will take the longest to get through and which is the shortest. We have five days so we can go to one park twice. Also our last day we will also being flying home that night so a shorter park would be good that day. Any help/advice?

WALT DISNEY WORLD Magic Kingdom - 107 acres Epcot - 305 acres Disney's Hollywood Studios - 135 acres Disney's Animal Kingdom - 410 acres (500 including parking lots) Disney's Typhoon Lagoon - 56 acres (this may include parking lots) Disney's Blizzard Beach - 66 acres (this may include parking lots) Downtown Disney - 120 acres (this may include parking lots) Pleasure Island - 8 acres ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex - 220 acres

The sizes listed above are all correct but they don't really give a good idea of which parks take the longest and shortest to tour.

Longest would have to be Epcot, if you intend to do the World Showcase AND Futureworld.

Next would be Magic Kingdom which has so many attractions including several shows, that it would be tough to see them all in one day.

I think it would be a tie between HS and AK although maybe others can give reasons for one over the other. Many people consider both of them to be half-day parks.

We've done this 4 1/2 day thing before. Spent one full day in each park and returned to Magic Kingdom for the extra half day before heading home. But it all depends on which rides/attractions you want to see in each, not really on physical size.

I don't think the actual size of the park matters but what will determine how much time is needed is what interests you & your family...its not a one size fits all kind of thing

I could spend 2 days in a row all day at AK, fascinated by every little detail and someone else would think that is crazy and allow 1/2 day if at all for that park

Everyone has a different way to tour the parks.

For us, the shortest is Hollywood Studios while the longest is Epcot (Magic Kingdom can be long too if you ride every attractions).

Yeah it depends on your touring style, though I'm wondering how people manage to do half days at any of the parks without skipping a whole lot. I was a ride wimp on my last trip and we still stayed from 9-6 at least.

I'd say plan at least a day for all parks, with any spare days going to Epcot, then MK, HS/AK in order of priority but that's how I'd tour. If you only have one spare day, use the it for Epcot or your favourite park from the last few days IMO. If you need any last minute gifts EPCOT is the place to be to spend some leftover souvenir money and have a nice walk around without being too stressed over catching another ride.

I think DHS is the smallest and AK's the largest.

MK is actually smaller than DHS but feels bigger since it has more attractions.AK might be the biggest in terms of size but a lot of that space is for animals in attractions like the Safari which takes up a lot of space. In most peoples eyes Epcot would have to be considered the biggest park.

Despite the actual size, you walk a LOT more at Epcot than Animal Kingdom. In fact, with careful planning, I would guess you may end up walking less at AK than MK. So much of AK's park size is built into the Safari and Rafiki's Planet.

We walk more at animal kingdom over all others. Then I would guess Magic Kingdom followed by DHS then EPCOT. To us we basically make a big circle around Epcot. We also plan by our days to not diss cross much.
