What are your favourite parades and viewing spots? Are there any that you would skip? Not sure if we want to waste ride time or an afternoon break at the pool to watch a parade... but if they are really that good.... maybe we should!

Thanks!

We are always napping/pool at 3:00, except for arrival day, so we always try to get to MK for FOF that day...it is pretty awesome!

Festival of Fantasy really is worth seeing. We watched from frontierland outside of the country bear jamboree.

We watched from that area in May. There's some good shaded areas in that side of the parade route, and the parade itself was impressive, especially the dragon.

As for the night parade, we're not big fans of MSEP, but that may be because our earliest trips included SpectroMagic.

There are only two that I know of: Festival of Fantasy (daytime parade at Magic Kingdom), and Main Street Electrical Parade (nighttime parade at Magic Kingdom).
They're both worth seeing, IMO, but I enjoyed Festival of Fantasy the most. It's a ton of fun.

Festival of Fantasy, it's beyond incredible, lots of characters, lots of energy, and amazing costumes! We absolutely love it!
-Frontierland: we usually get there around 2:30, check the pin shop, MAYBE watch Country Bears if the timing is right, and hang out in the shade, then after the grand marshals pass by, we jump across the street where it's sunnier but there's still a bunch of open space!

If I -had- to choose one I'd probably do FoF, but I love MSEP. I think it's worth making time for both.

I do not miss the Main Street Electrical Parade. I was so incredibly excited when it returned to the Magic Kingdom and I take every opportunity I can to see it, since I know it will not stay forever. I never watch the daytime parades, opting to enjoy a ride or two with slightly shorter lines instead. We usually watch MSEP either along the rope in Frontierland or sitting on the curb on the Tomorrowland side of the hub.

I saw Festival of Fantasy last trip for the first time and it was amazing.

We scheduled a late lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern and timed it perfectly to leave right before the parade, so we were able to watch from the steps of the restaurant.

I love the night time parades best of all. Main Street Electrical Parade or SpectroMagic--both are so unique.

Nothing wrong with the day time parade, but it's just not as special to me.

I wish they'd bring Tapestry back to Epcot too.

If I had to choose only one MK parade, I would definitely choose Festival of Fantasy over the nighttime parade. I think the costuming in the FOF parade is just AMAZING.

I love the Festival of Fantasy parade, but if you are there during a hot time of year, do have an umbrella or a portable fan. We had fps and were in the hub; by the time it was over we were quite done in, and I ended up having to go back and cancel our dinner at BOG for that evening. It wasn't a problem to cancel, they were turning so many people away, they were quite glad to get one they could pass off to someone else. While I was cancelling, DS took the 2 DGDs to their A&E fp. We went back to the resort to take the kids swimming, then watched the movie on the lawn..

You don't wanna miss Festival of Fantasy! It's a must do for my family. We tend to walk up right before 3pm in Frontierland and stand back and watch. But we're all adults, so we can see with no problem. If you're traveling with children, I would suggest getting there about a half hour early (2:30). Probably have to be there earlier than that if watching on main street :)

We are travelling in August so the heat will definitely be a factor. I'm hoping to have little fans. My kids are taller than me Lol . I think we will watch from Frontierland a little back from the crowd.

What time is the FOF parade in the MK? We are going the last week of August. Have a 2:35 Liberty Tree Tavern adr. Will we be out in time? What time does it pass liberty square?

We all loved FOF. We did have a FP for it, and were there relatively early (around 2) because my kids were tired and ready for a snack break. We were able to get a spot at the very front of the FP viewing area, which allowed us to get a frontal view as the floats came down Msin Street as well as side view as they turned.

We all loved MSEP. DH and I insisted on seeing it as we both remembered it from our childhoods, and my girls LOVED it.

What parades have you already seen???

Festival of Fantasy is probably the best daytime parade disney has but since it moved to 3pm I understand the whole getting into the park at that time to see it.. I liked it a lot better at noon as you were making your way out of the park for the afternoon break. We either time getting into the park just before it starts or we leave just after it ends and come back later.. If there is somewhere you want to do lunch in MK, it's a great time to get a 1ish table service.
