What packaging drives you crazy??

CD/DVD's? Potato chips? Cereal? Batteries? Bags of lettuce? Shrink-wrapped anything?

How about you, any aggravating to open packages? I even have a tough envelope every so often. Marie's dentist has the hardest envelope to open, sometimes I need a knife or scissors.

Toys. We got DD a "Litte People" toy set for Christmas and it took me (with a pair of scissors) a half an hour to get it all undone. It could survive a nuclear blast.

I hate that tape that is constructed to keep superman out. My ginsu knives won't even touch that stuff.

That's easy...that horrible hard, clear plastic molded stuff that is melded together like kryptonite...often used on...almost everything relatively small in the electonics dept is packaged in it....GGGRRRRR...way annoying

The first thing I thought of was dvd's. They are terrible. Once you get into the wrapper then 3 corners are taped too!
I hate toys as well. What is up with all those twisty ties?! They are terrible to get into.
Next would be slim jims. My kids love to eat them but sometimes it is impossible to get them open.
I agree with the clear plastic molded stuff too. It is definately the hardest. There is NO WAY ON EARTH to actually open it with your hands.
I am starting to hate bottle too. I opened a new bottle of ketchup and there was first the plastic wrapper around the neck, then you have to unscrew the bottle and open a foil top seal as well.

Uep. Anything blister-packed that can't even be cut open with scissors - most everything sold in the electronics department. It's also frustrating to open CDs/DVDs amd videos wrapped in plastic...err.

The packaging for barbies and other dolls! They sew the doll's hair to the box for crying out loud! After pulling out half the doll's hair, she's ready to be played with...she looks like she has been in a fight with a lawnmower, but she's ready!

)I hate the packaging on DVDs...it can be quite frustrating...

But the worst is the pacakging on action fgigures now...I collect the Palisades Toys Muppet Action Figures (yes Im 22 and play with muppet toys..so sue me! ) It takes me forever to open them and I always seem to cut myself on the plastic in the process!

BARBIES! And many other small kid's toys. Since when did a $7-$8 toy need to be haircuffed (and I MEAN haircuffed) to the box? As well as those twistie things around their wrists, ankles and every accessory in the box?! And then, they tape the twisties and/or the strings besides! Honestly, if I'm gonna steal a Barbie, I'll take the whole box.

Exactly! After 45 minutes of trying to untie all the metal ties, your child has lost interest in playing with the toy!

Trying to get the foil off of a the new disposable contact container is a PITA!

Dan,

You left out the most frustrating packaging of all, the bags they have in produce sections of the grocery store. You never know which end it is that opens and it is even more difficult when you are attempting to juggle five oranges while trying to open it. I have a word for that:

Produce-ditigitation: adjective; The slight of hand necessary to magically open the correct end of the plastic bag without allowing a single fruit or vegetable to leave your hand.

I lived in No. Ca. for many years. I lived in Sacramento, then to Travis AFB with my husband. I miss it so much!

What's worse is getting all those twisty ties off the toys and then finding them screwed to the box!! So many of ds's trucks and stuff lately have been screwed to the box. I don't get it. lol

I grew up in New England, it's very different here. My husband is a native, he grew up in Newark (near Fremont). We're trying to leave the state, it's...not suited to us anymore.

I like Sacramento, before the kids I had a lot of meetings up in our Sacramento office. I would stop at the outlets in Vallejo on my way home everytime.
