What packaging drives you crazy??

We are moving to New England next year! (I hope!!) We didn't want to move back to CA for probably the same reasons you want to leave!

Dory is the best! I crack up every time I watch that movie!

Well, they don't call it the "left" coast for nothing. :D We get back to New England yearly to see my family, I still love it there, but I don't miss the weather.

HAHAHA! You've got THAT right!

We love the cold weather, and want snow! We are moving to New Hampshire--I'm sure we'll get plenty of snow there! :teeth:

Hey, this thread is a hit. :hyper: On my PC it has 16 views and 22 replies. Quality posting. :teeth:

HEY! I lived in NH for most of my life. Londonderry. You'll love it there. :)

And now, to stay on topic, I also hate the string cheese packages, hard to open, especially with a two year old hanging on your leg waiting for it.

DVD's, CD's and some of the toy's! ::yes:: It really drives me nut's with all the tape they put around the DVD's( sometimes they have 3 different strips of tape on the DVD)! Why on earth do they do that( I guess they have to much time on there hands)? LOL

The packaging for Barbies and other dolls! They sew the doll's hair to the box for crying out loud! After pulling out half the doll's hair, she's ready to be played with...she looks like she has been in a fight with a lawnmower, but she's ready!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: OMG...I almost forgot these till I read your post. My DD is now 17, but I remember fighting with them...like it was yesterday!
I also hate opening small packages of coffee...I work in a restaurant and when making pots of coffee, often when I go to open it, I don't have a knife nearby and by the time I get the package open...I have coffee all over the place! Smells great...but what a mess!

The toner cartridges for the printer and fax at work. One is wrapped in a foil bag that needs to but cut, the you have to pop some other piece off before placing it in the machine. The other is wrapped with tape, then you have to pull some plastic piece off and pull a tab that removes something else.

Cereal bags. I don't know how many cereal bags I've demolished in my attempts to open them. Is it really necessary to have cereal THAT protected?!

Any of DS cars or trucks that have the twist ties through the wheels and then the ends pass through the cardboard, then a plastic piece and then twisted and almost knotted and then taped to the back of the cardboard! :earseek:

I often unpack shipping cartons, so the first thing that popped into my head when I read this thread title was PACKING PEANUTS. I HATE them. They get away from you SO easily.

But I ALSO detest those hard plastic blister packs. They ARE impossible to open with just your hands.

PAMPERS!!!

Even after you get them open - you can lose a finger trying to get that first one out!

DVDs are high up on my list. :earseek: Everytime you THINK you have that stupid thing beat.........you find yet another piece of tape holding it shut (and to save your soul, you can't find where the end to pull is!! )

Oh, I remember opening those Barbie boxes for my girls.........I was always tempted just to give her a hair cut instead of trying to un-sew her head from the packaging (what? do they think she is going to escape or something?!! )

I think the absolute worst thing I EVER opened had to be the Disney's Beauty and the Beast castle for Jessica last year!!:crazy2: Wire ties, screws, plastic ties (the ones that you can't untwist, you have to get scissors and get blisters trying to cut them!!!:faint: ) Add a very excited 9 yr old, bouncing up and down, telling you that "I CAN do that Mom!!" rather impatiently, and you have the making for a perfect afternoon!!:scared1:

I also hate the twisty ties that hold in toys!!! As far as DVD's, I must be one of the few to not have any problems with them, but I do understand the complaint.

Another thing I goes bonkers on is more work related. As most of you probally know, I work at Toys R Us. Well, at the end of the night we have to go throught the store and make sure it is straightened. The wonderful people from Mattel make it darn near impossible for the Barbies (and the like) to be stood up and pulled to the front of the shelf without them falling over!!!!! It takes us so much longer to clean girls all thanks to those boxes.

ITA!! :p ......................P

Ok, I had to respond. I work retail in handbags. Ok, I unpack shipping boxes every single day. First you have to cut the tape to open the boxes, then take the plastic off the purses. Then take the paper wrapping and any foam wrapping off.
If it's one of the designer purses, I first have to cut the steel 1/2 inch wide wire they use to secure the gigantic plastic totes they keep the boxes in.
