No but it is the best timeshare on the island. It's location is between coligny circle and the back entrance to Sea Pines. The 2 I mentioned above are on one property right across from DVC. The next closest is Surfwatch a couple of miles north almost to the Port Royal entrance. I've used RCI points to stay a couple of nights at Island Links and it worked well.Is this the Marriot near Disney's resort??

You might be able to rent a week at Marriott Harbour Pointe or Sunset Pointe for as cheaply as 3-4 days at a hotel, they are on the other side of the Marina from DVC's resort. There are a ton of resorts and rental options, an internet search should find you several. You can rent directly from Marriott or try priceline.
Okay how close are these resorts to Disney's? Also, are these beach side?? Any better than others?? Thanks again.
Palmetto Dunes
Shipyard
Forest Beach
Sea Pines
Folly Beach
Port Royal
Ocean Palms
As mentioned, Palmetto Dunes is the plantation where the Disney Beach House is located. And there is a Marriott hotel and a Hilton hotel near the beach house.
I am not familiar with Ocean Palms, but all the others would be some distance from Disney.
The timeshares Dean mentioned (Marriott Harbour Pointe and Marriott Sunset Pointe) which are in Shelter Cove very near Disney, are available on the Marriott website, but summer time is not cheap on HH. The rates I got were $312/day regular rate, $278/day for seniors or AAA, and $226/day for Marriott timeshare owners paying cash. This is for a 2-bedroom unit. I looked up 3 day stays in late July for both weekday and weekend, and got the same rates.
For inexpensive, the Red Roof Inn isn't too far away. Looks like about $70/night weekday, and $115/night weekend. Not necessarily recommending that (I haven't stayed at a Red Roof Inn in many years), but thought I'd mention it as an option.
IMHO, the best place to stay (not considering Disney) is Marriott's Grande Ocean. It's all 2-bedroom units, ocean front, just north of Sea Pines plantation, and has Sea Pines privileges. (Normally, outsiders are not allowed onto Sea Pines without paying a fee.) Sea Pines is great for cycling, golfing, boating, etc. Grande Ocean has at least 4 outdoor pools, and 1 indoor pool. It's also available on Marriott.com for a daily rate, but is more than Harbour Pointe or Sunset Pointe.

HH is not a big island (12 miles long I think), nothing is that far away. As to what's best, depends on what you want. You asked about those closest, that was my answer. IMO, the top 3 resorts on the island are the 3 top Marriott's (Grande Ocean, Barony Beach and Surfwatch). All are ocean front, newer and very nice. Grande Ocean is the best both in general terms and to trade into. BB is second for a rental of anything other than a garden view units but SW is second for an exchange because the garden view units there are better than at BB. Finding several HH maps on an internet search is easy to give you a lay of the land, Here is one such map. There are a number of other timeshares worth staying at including other Marriott's but a number of others. II has the best options but RCI has some good ones also.Do you know the exact name of the Marriot or Hilton?? I am sure there are others on the Island that won't be the ones by Disney's resort.

I know there are others that really like the DVC location however, the majority of people who visit HH prefer other locations including Sea Pines and OF options. DVC is a nice resort and the Shelter Cove area is good, just that there are even better locations for many people.
The resort is easy to check out, however, we've been denied the ability to drive to the resort and park a couple of times. If that happens to you just park at Shelter Cover and walk over, it's very short. It's relatively easy to get there from anywhere on the island and is a good spot to plan a meal in combination with a visit to the DVC resort.Oh okay Dean. Thank you. I just want to be able to CHECK out Disney's resort so it really doesn't matter if we are not right next to it. My main objective is to at least see what HHI is all about and to see Disney's resort. We were going to stay there for a week but then decided to go to WDW and Vero instead. Now we are thinking it would be nice to spend a few days there on the way home. I will continue on my quest of figuring this all out.![]()

Also Harbourside III is the closest as it sits directly on to of the Shelter Cove shopping complex. It is a combo of mostly fractionals and wholly owned units and trades with RCI.Here is a link to the Marriott Resort and Spa - about 50 yards north of the Disney Beach House - http://www.hiltonheadmarriott.com/
Here is a link to the Hilton Oceanfront resort - about 200 yards south of the Disney Beach House -http://www.hiltonoceanfrontresort.com/
The closest resorts to the DVC resort are Harbourside III, Marriott Sunset Pointe and Marriott Harbor Pointe - which are on the same tidal marsh (Broad Creek) as the DVC Resort and may all be seen from the DVC property at Shelter Cove. The Marriott Resort and Hilton Oceanfront are located about a mile away on the beach.
