Hi.. We are planning a last minute trip.. and I would love to stay at a resort hotel, unfortunately for our dates dec 6-8. I can only find the GC for 3XX a nite.. way too much at this point....

so... I was thinking maybe the marriot anaheim, we stayed there last year and actually walked several times over to the parking lot and took the tram... It is right adjacent to the convention center.. I am looking to see if anyone knows any other hotels RIGHT (I mean really close) there... I think maybe the hilton is there too...
Its so hard to figure out how close the hotels are because everything says like 1 block from disney.. b ut since disney is so huge.. I want to be 1 block from a tram location, not 1 block behind disney, so its really 5 blocks to walk there.. know what I mean...

if anyone has any insight into close hotels in that area please tell!!

THanks
kc

You are correct, the Anaheim Hilton is directly next to the conference center. It's a nice hotel and rates are good when there is not a major convention in town. There are other Hiltons around, namely Hilton Suites and Hilton Garden Inn, but they are not real close to DLR.

I have done some more digging and found a map at
http://www.beachcalifornia.com/dlmp.html
and found that on the map the portofino inn and suites looks to be a bit closer...

if you are walking to the back of the parking lot to catch a ride on the tram...

any opinions on this hotel or the walk.... we are comforable with the walk from the marriot (or I guess the hilton too since its right there).. I am trying to figure out if there are any other options close enough to walk to that tram stop in the timon/simba parking lot.... we like that option when the trams are busy...

any thoughts

thanks

I visited Disneyland on November 4 and the Timon parking lot was closed. I entered on Harbor but was diverted to the Mickey and Friends Parking Structure. I don't know if it is still closed, maybe someone else knows. Because of this, you might want to consider one of the motels adjacent to the entrance along Harbor. I've stayed at BW Park Place (nicest of the three, IMO), Carrousel and Park Inn; they are basic and clean...not nearly as nice as the larger hotels - but they are a 5 minute walk across Harbor.

Thanks for the link to the map - pretty cool!

The best non-Disney hotel for walking is the Best Western Park Place Inn (called the Best Western Anaheim Inn in the new Disney travel book). It is literally across the street from the pedestrian entrance-no trams, very convenient. The hotel is no Marriott or Hilton, though, but it is decent. When we stayed there we got a room separated w/a 1/2 wall w/beds on one side and sofa on other side, so it was roomy. They also have standard rooms, so you will have to ask for this type of room when you book. Our more favorite hotels to stay at for walking, even w/the longer walk are the Marriott & Hilton. Both are very nice. The Hilton is like a city inside-it is huge! The Coast Anaheim is also right next to the Hilton, but I've never stayed there-I believe it is in the same class as the Hilton/Marriott. I've never stayed at the Portofino, but I think it is farther down the street-not sure if it would be good for walking to the parking lot. I would check out the hotel websites if you haven't done so already.
