What order would you sell your contracts?

Good exercise and one that I have thought of often.

1. resale 185 Poly. This was recently purchased and I considered selling to buy RIV direct; however, it seemed arduous to go through the selling process. Will hold for now.

2. direct 150 VGF. At this time, not our favorite and that could change as my DD gets older and school schedules change.

3. direct 150 VGF.

4. resale 160 BLT.

5. resale 210 BLT.

5. resale 180 AKV. Very difficult to give up this and/or BLT now because the UY works for school schedule and my DD loves AKV right now.

6. direct 200 RIV. Towards the end of the list because we need a direct contract and would probably get crushed price-wise selling it.

7. direct 175 BWV. I would prefer to let this go first but I co-own it so can't sell it.
Out of curiosity, you own 300 direct points at VGF but it's not your favorite? Were they more purchased as direct SAP?

they were purchased during the 2023 VGF fire sale. I needed more points and wanted to get my husband on a direct contract. We would probably love VGF if we didn't have a 6 year old. We had our honeymoon there. I could totally do the Enchanted Rose every night and signature dining. Clearly a 6 yo derails that!

That fire sale sold people!
Sigh, why couldn't there have been a Poly firesale instead 😭 .

I think in time you guys will love it. The lobby and food options are 👍. Citricos, Narcoosee's, V&As is a pretty difficult lineup to beat then you add GF cafe and yeah..

The only way I would sell is if I was faced with a catastrophe, in that case they'd all probably have to go so the order doesn't really matter. They'd all go on the market the same day.

Seems like somewhat of a consistent theme that RIV/VDH points would be last or near last for people. Make me wonder if direct owners of restricted resorts will be somewhat more hesitant to sell than we have historically seen with the O14 resorts. Was probably a little easier before restrictions came along to offload points you might have bought at, say, OKW and then along came VGF or BLT, and you said, well, I really want that and I can sell OKW for what I bought it for (or more) and then buy the shiny new resort. That probably isn't happening with restricted resorts nearly as often (and without taking some serious losses). Just another variable that might or might not affect how restrictions and room availability play out over the long-term.

This may also be due to the fact that they are newer contracts bought direct, not solely because they are restricted. If I bought OKW direct in the last couple years, even during the fire sale, and I went to sell it now, I'd lose a ton of money as well.

I would be curious to see the years people bought their contracts and how much this plays into their decision.

Agreed. That thought crossed my mind too, and I'm sure that matters too in people's decisions on what to sell.
