What % off is AP code AZB?

Does anyone know what the savings percent is if using the AP code for deluxe resorts? I thought it was traditionally 45%, but I thought I read it was only 25% this time??

It's not even 25% for all rooms! It's a flat $85/night for deluxe resorts, so the higher price your room/resort, the less percentage your discount. I have a split res. WL & BWI. For WL, I got about 24%, BWI only 20%! This is different than any discount I've ever gotten, Disney Club, AAA, AP.

For the polynesian garden view, it is 28.5%. Usually the discount is about 30-40%. I don't think it is traditionally 45%.

The discount are a set amount per resort category, regardless of view or "preferred" status.

Value Resorts are $30 off per night.

Moderates are $60 off per night.

Deluxes are $85 off per night.

BUT, the moderate and value resorts are still in "regular" season thru 8/28, while the deluxe resorts begin their value season on 7/5. So, there's a little more savings already built into the deluxes right there.

The more expensive the room, the less money you save. My poor fiance got up and was on the phone at 7:00am. In between getting ready for work and a 9:00am conference call, he kept going back and forth with a wonderful CM until he had to leave. She was finally able to re-book our deluxe concierge room with the AP rate and after all that we only saved $92 going from AAA rate to AP. Needless to say, my fiance was not too thrilled that after all that he only saved $92. I told him to check Mousesavers first, but he didn't. Never would have wasted so much time (his and the CM's) for that amount of money.

The discounts this time are definitely different from past AP discounts and the percentage is a good bit less than the ones that go through July 4. The savings for deluxe resorts was much greater for bookings up to July 4.

Grand Floridian discount after July 4 is about 25% on a Garden view room.

Have no idea why this changed unless bookings are really up for this time period.

I was really dissappointed with the ap rate for the deluxe. I had my friends call every morning this past week. They got the ap rate and the difference between it and the AAA discount was 70 bucks!
I also convinced them to switch from the contemp to the Yacht club not realizing it was more expensive so their savings was even less if you know what I mean.
They decided to stick with the AAA rate and go in september when they wanted to go.
Needless to say, they think I am a complete doornob! I was going to try and grab Ap rates for our trip in October, but maybe I should just join the AAA instead or get a Disney Visa. (Which looks like it was just of a good of a deal as the AP and it came out two days sooner -- not sure of that fact though, correct me if I am wrong).
20% off a room is still good, and I know that, I guess I was hoping to WOW them with something substantial from what they already had.

AAA discount is either 15% or 20% depending on the season. SO when you compare what you saved using an AP to what you had with AAA of course there is not much of a difference but you really need to compare to the rack rate to be alittle happier.

Example

Value POP Century (all prices below do not include tax 11.5%)

Rack rate $99.00 per night
AAA rate $84.15 per night 15% discount
AP rate $69.00 per night $30 off rack rate(about 30%)

If I compare my saving from my AAA reservation to my AP rate I only saved $15.15 per night. But that money adds up when you stay more then a few nights. But if I compare it to rack rate I saved $30 per night and that is food for a day. Try to be thankful for what you did save and not what you thought you should of saved. Remember some people will never make it to DIsney and many of us go two or three times a year.

Like everyone is saying, it depends on the room and resort. The WL standard room comes out to be 43% and I believe that to be the best discount. AKL standard is the same also if I remember correct. But I have to agree that the current discounts are nowhere near as good as the past.

I agree Disneydreamer 315. For the past couple of years, the AP discounts have been between 40% and 45%. Last year, I did not renew my AP because the Fairy Tale Package (7 nights for the price of 4) was such a good deal.

For my situation, since I need to purchase tickets and we were planning on five nights at WDW anyway, the 5/7 package is a better deal than the less than 25% AP discount available for BWV.

I have a AAA discount already booked for Poly LV concierge, and the savings was 15%. The new AP discount only gives me $85 off/night! When you are considering $470/night, $85 off is nothing! It is less than 20%. I was counting on AP rates similar to last year...which would have been $325 Poly LVC! I AM VERY UNHAPPY!!!!

We had AAA rates for BC for 7 nites...$1917 standard view. With at AP discount our rate is now $1592 for a total savings of $325.00. I'm thrilled to be saving $325.00 but overall very disappointed in the rates. I don't think I'll be purchasing APs in the future. Our savings for June is much better. This is the first time we have stayed at BC and I wish we would have tried it in October when we stayed at AKL our savings would have been better...oh well...I guess $325 is better than nothing! Shame I can't the AAA discount on top of it!

I totally agee with the other posters. The amount of the discount on a room that is originally $505 a night is practically nothing. I know that WDW doesn't owe us discounts, but they aren't equal across the board, like a percentage rate is. I'm thankful that we can afford our room and grateful that we go as often as we do, but it isn't fair that someone in a standard room is saving a higher percentage than someone in a higher priced room. We'd still go even if we paid rack rate and we always buy APs because they make sense for the number of days we're at WDW in a year, but they need to be more equitable with the discounts.

It's not supposed to be "fair", it's supposed to be a way for Disney to bring more guests on-site. They are in the business of making money, so "fair" doesn't (and shouldn't) enter the equation. People that are willing and able to shell out the $$ for a deluxe, whether there is a discount or not, are most likely going to stay on-site anyway. The deeper discounts at the values and mods bring in people that might not have stayed on-site, but will come over because of the discounts.

I believe you're data is incorrect for last year, the rate for Poly LVC was $385 before tax for July 3 - August 23, 2003. This was a savings of $85 off the rack rate of $470, which is the same price it is this year for the similar time period July 5 - August 28, 2004. I know this because that's where we stayed last summer and that was the charge for the room, I kept a printout of the confirmation and my bill from check-out. However, for the time period of April 18 - July 4, 2004 the price was $325 for Poly GVC and $410 for Poly LVC or $115 off the rack rate, which is also the same as last year, could that be what you meant?

Just trying to help clarify that it appears to be the exact same discounts as last summer for AP holders so I don't understand why everyone is so unhappy.

The last release of APs and DVISA rates weren't all that great either and it was for "regular" season in the deluxe category. The DVISA discount was 24% ($373.56 p/night [$330 w/o tax]) while the AP was only 26% ($364 p/night [$325 w/o tax])--didn't take a bunch off, but it's better than nothing!

Last year's AP rate on the GVC at Polynesian (same category as mentioned above) was $328.93 p/night [$295 w/o tax]--pretty big difference for the year. The anyone can use it code rate was $379 or $333 p/night.

We were lucky to get the DVISA rate because at 7:05 a.m. there were NO AP rates for our week at that level or LVC at Polynesian. Tells me the place is fairly well booked for June anyway. That was not the case last year. It's supply and demand folks--disappointing, but at least we have a room where we want to stay AND with a discount of some sort.

I was hoping for a bigger discount at the deluxe resorts since we will be staying ten nights at them. I know that I am paying $75 more a night for AKL concierge than I did in during the value season in January . I even thought about changing our plans and staying at POR for some of the trip to save money. I decided against it because it's our 10yr anniversary and I know none of my kids will want to sleep on the trundle bed.
Disney knows they have people like me who love the deluxes and will stay at them even if the discounts aren't that big.
Maybe I will have better luck next time
