What Not To Wear - I'm disgusted

ummm...how can you comment on this TV show if you've never seen it? So I'll explain: the whole point of the furor is that this woman used her long hair in the plea to be on the show - to get a makeover and $5000 worth of new clothes. She duped the producers into choosing her. They must have salivated at the thought of trimming all that hair! I have no problem with her holding onto her personal beliefs - but she shouldn't have lied to get on the show - I believe that she took the new clothes under false pretenses.

I have not commented on the show........I have commented on the idea that has been presented and asked many times on this thread: why would someone not allow their hair to be cut. Now for my questions: Did she lie? Did she at any time ever say she would allow them to cut her hair?? Or maybe, was she under the impression it was a show about "what not to wear"??? Many people have many reasons for what they say or do(i.e. the backlash people want to show this woman because they may be jealous she was chosen for the show instead of them). Calling someone a liar is a pretty harsh statement to make just because you have a differing opinion on the purpose of the show. I would seem to think if the producers of the show were so unhappy with the product it would have never even aired: because my view on that point differs from yours, does not make me a liar......or does it???

Just more nuggets to think about......... :thumbsup2

She may very well have asked Nick about that but it was never shown so we (the viewers) can only comment can only comment on what we were shown. It could have been that the editors cut that out to make her seem more determined. But it seems to me from her attitude and things that she said even before going to see Nick, she was very resolute about not cutting her hair.

Given the length of her hair, I'm not too sure there was much that Nick could have done with it besides a bun. There was just too much hair and it looked like it would have been too heavy to style.

I know for a fact putting forth the extra time, creative processes and energy can be exhausting on a person, but when you are in a hospitality or service industry those very things are what define you as a professional in your field and define you as being one of the best in that field.

If someone goes to a WDW restaurant with a special need, should the chef then convice the customer it would be best just to go ahead and select a listed menu item anyway??? Or should the chef just walk away and say there is nothing I can do for you if you do not want to have what I have already prepared?? Or should the chef say,"I will do something special for you tonight so you can walk away and have a memory to last a lifetime???

a few more nuggets......... :thumbsup2
