What Not To Wear At Walt Disney World - Getting ready for the next one -Show on again

Darn - we'll be in WDW the same time as you will and my girls were really hoping to meet you, but it doesn't look like our plans will match up at all. We'll have our lime green Mickey heads on though, so we'll keep an eye out for you anyway because you never know! Loving the pre-trip report... I usually don't read these because really, I'm busy enough with my own packing and phone calling and overplanning. Then of course most of those plans get thrown out the window once we get there!

I will probably be the same way now that I am taking my very first trip with PARK HOPPERS! So maybe we will run into you - I'll keep an eye out. Thank goodness for the treasured lime green Mickey heads!

Hi there,
Popped over from my PTR after you posted there. Just subbing just now, need to go back and read through properly!
You're so close to going!!!!!!:yay:
Di x :donald:

I know, I can't believe it! Exactly one week today I will be officially leaving work to start my vacation!

And the top 7 girl's name is spelled S-T-A-C-E-Y......S-T-A-C-Y is the WNtW lady.:thumbsup2

I just noticed your tag and am realizing you are a Stacey expert John  I will have to pay more attention to her this trip!!

Adorable kitties and bunny! Great story of how the bunny came to be too.
OMG - Catster! That is just too cute. I may just have to set my kittys up there in my spare time!

Isn't it ridiculous? It's kind of one of those things that you sign your kitty up for, have fun making the page, and then never really look at it again  At least I don't....maybe Mixi checks her page in her spare time! :cat:

I can't believe I just found your trip report. I remember reading the one when you brought your stuffed chicken along. :goodvibes

I am really looking forward to your report. :thumbsup2 I have always wanted to stay at WL. Maybe once the kids are older and my husband and I can go on our own. :rotfl:

I hope you have a wonderful trip. Your plans sound fantastic. :thumbsup2

Oh Boy...your trip will be here soon! Are ya on cloud nine
yet?? Fingers crossed for NO storms. Sure it will be all good
and the magic will take you far far away from reality!:)

Subbing in! LOVED your show! :thumbsup2 I can't wait to hear about your trip........it's coming up so fast! And......you're going to LOVE the Wilderness Lodge! :goodvibes

My poor stuffed chicken, Mr. Vacuum!! I actually was just about to post something about that little guy....

Yay - thank you!!

If you’re read my other trip reports, you may be wondering why Mr. Vacuum wasn’t included in our cast this time.

Mr. V and I jaunted down to Key West last year to attend the wedding of two dear friends.

Oooh….pretty.

Well, Mr. Vacuum really fell in love with that area of Florida, and decided to take up permanent residence in Fort Lauderdale. He writes occasionally and is missed.

Thanks! Although I honestly expected as much, going during hurricane season and all  I worked at Epcot in college and during the month of September it rained EVERY SINGLE DAY! Luckily it usually only rains for an hour or so...I hope I hope!
I did buy ten pocket ponchos at Target last week just in case :umbrella:

I really hope so! I have been trying not to pay attention so I don't worry!

Me too, I was like "Oh no way this thing is going to last more than a week!"

The nice thing about the rain is that is usually causes people to leave the parks and then you have them all to yourself :umbrella: (what can I say...I'm trying to be optimistic!)

Good point.. and like many have said, a raiy day at wdw is better then a dry sunny day at my house!! I still need to go to target for ponchos.. keep reminding me lol

I just came back from WalMart where I bought 10 ponchos, and I think I have another 10 sitting in my suitcase from last time! You can never have too many ponchos. I'm hoping that little sunshiney guy waaaaaay down at the end stays put, I have a Wishes Cruise that night and don't want it to get rained out!

Actually when we've gone before during hurricane season, even with one sitting right off the coast for a few days, it was actually pretty nice weather. As long as the storm doesn't actually HIT of course. It gets nice and cloudy and cool, and the rain usually comes in spurts so you can just duck into Hall of Presidents for a nap or something. :rolleyes1 And the rain keeps people away! I always laugh when I see people running to get out of the rain. They're already wet, do they think they're going to dodge the raindrops or something? Just embrace it, throw a poncho on (or not), pretend you're a kid and find a puddle to splash in on your way to the next attraction!!

I'm still hoping for no rain on Sunday night though. The other 11 days can rain away, I don't care.

::yes:: as long as it doesn't rain on the morning we're supposed to be at Typhoon Lagoon, i can deal! woooo hurricane season! this is actually the first time i have successfully found cheap ponchos at Target (I had to search for about 40 minutes before i found the 'rain gear' section! That place is huge), so I was so excited when I hit the jackpot I snapped up ten of them. I used to just bring an umbrella and rough it, but I have a very unpleasant story about the 2002 Food & Wine fest when my mom came to visit while I was working at Epcot. On my night off it POURED. We had so little time together we just went ahead and hit up the F&WF anyway (we were the ONLY people in the park). We had one poncho and I let her wear it because I figured I could deal. Well, COLD RAIN + MULTIPLE SAMPLES OF WINE = VOMITING ALL OVER EPCOT GERMANY. Yikes.

Good thing you got the ponchos. You wouldn't want to repeat that again. :goodvibes

Ooops! :rotfl:

Keeping my fingers crossed for you (and me!) for the weather.

Saying that, we're from the West of Scotland - raining is one of our national past times! At least in Florida it's warm whilst it's raining. :umbrella:

True true, I'll take warm Florida rain over gray Pennsylvania rain any day!

No I don't! This time I am prepared!! I hope!

Fun Fact: Posting on your pre-trip report, even when you don’t really have any new plans to discuss, makes the looooong span of time before your trip actually arrives go faster.

So, here are some pictures of my favorite souvenirs that I have picked up at WDW. I like functional souvenirs, and this year am hoping to find a CD wallet to keep all the CDs for my computer in (as opposed to the jumbly drawer where they all get thrown now). And some Mixi presents. How could you not want to heap Disney presents on this little face?

On my first trip to WDW, I got a Minnie Mouse music statue. It played “When You Wish Upon A Star” and matched my bedroom, which at the time was bright pink with a Minnie & Daisy border. Then one day, being a typical 6-year-old, I was leaping joyfully on my bed and knocked it over and Minnie smashed into a bazillion pieces. The base, however, was fine – so next time we went to WDW, my mom bought me an Aurora statue, and dad superglued her to the base (sorry Minnie).

In 1990 on our trip to MGM, I got another music statue (apparently my parents felt that I had matured enough in two years to avoid anymore smashy-smashing). This was a Mickey who played “Mickey Mouse Club March”.

One thing I like to do when I’m at a restaurant that A) I like and B) has this option is purchase their fancy drink with keepsake glass. This one is from my 22nd bday at CRT

I also had an awesome one from Marrakesh that met its end…due to um…more smashy-smash. Guess I really didn’t mature that much in 19 years. I also had an Epcot shot glass get smashed, but have managed to protect this one:

I actually bought that Mickey shot glass as a gift for a friend, but before I gave it to him, he drunkenly sent my Epcot shot glass flying across my kitchen to its doom….so Mickey shot glass became mine ;)

The rest of my souvenirs are either A) Clothing B) Jewelry C) Boring, so that is all for now. Except for my fancy Alice Shelf.

Here are a plethora of Disney souvenirs – wallet from WDW, doll from Disneyland, paper clip holder (now Disney pin holder) from Epcot. Along with other trinkets, records, and multiple versions of Lewis Carroll’s stories. I love me some Alice in Wonderland.

Although WALL-E may be challenging its title as best Disney movie ever….just a little. Check out who is hanging out below the sacred Alice Shelf, courtesy of Jack.

(Click to play...I hope)

(2nd Fun Fact – Statue of Liberty Minnie, sitting behind WALL-E, was given to me by the manager at the World of Disney Store in NYC. Apparently she was amused by my overjoyed freakout at WOD on What Not To Wear.)

(3rd Fun Fact – the little girl in the pictures on both my bookshelves is my mum.)

wall-e looks like he may do a little more smashy-smashy. :)
I'd keep my eye on him if I were you!

By the way - do you know when your on tv next? I keep on missing it!
