We are going to disney in December, and horror upon horrors, I do not want to do all disney. I want to take 2 days to do Universal, Ice and some other Orlando things. THe last time we went to Universal studios was maybe 4 years agoand the kids were really young. My 8 year old is not tall enought for the big thrill rides, but I sure would like to know what not to miss. Any tips, hints and would be great!!!! We are staying on Disney property and I will have my own car. TIA:goodvibes

He should be able to do almost everything except maybe the Hulk and Dueling Dragons roller coasters. But those are last on my list anyway, I like the theme rides better like Spiderman, Jurassic Park, MIB and the Mummy. I think he should be able to do all of those.

You'll have fun, just do as much as you can its a great place. And remember there are 2 large nice parks, not just one, and IMO Islands of Adventure is the best one.

are you doing both Islands and universal??

most of the rides mentioned so far are in islands of adventure.
Universal has....Shrek,Jimmy Neutron,Fear factor, Terminator and Jaws. All rides an 8 year old would love.

Don't forget Men In Black at the Studios.... like riding thru a videogame...DS loves it (heck, we ALL do!)

Your son will love everything..at least what he IS tall enuf to do :thumbsup2

yes we are going to do both. The 11 year old is boy and the 8 year old is a girl. I guess I should have made that clear. She is 48" tall so she can do some things just not alot. Plus it's the 11 year old that is afraid of everything:rotfl:

We just got back from a family vacation to Orlando with my extended family. Kids ages are 16, 14, 12, 9 and 3.5. In US the favorites were: Revenge of the Mummy, Men in Black, Shrek, Jimmy Neutron, the Hollywood Horror Make-up Show and the Beetlejuice Review. In IOA the favorites were: Hulk, Spiderman, Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls, Popeye's River Raft, Jurassic Park Adventure and Dueling Dragons. The 9 y.o was tall enough to ride everything except Hulk, Dr. Doom's Fearfall and Dueling Dragons.

Darcy03231, ty for the response. My 8 year old is tall enough for all but the ones that you listed. Now I know which rides/shows to make sure we don't miss
