What not to miss at Epcot?

I was at Epcot in August and really didn't see much. Just walked around World Showcase. It was so hot that day that we didn't stay long. Now we are going in October. Besides the Food & Wine Festival, what shows/attractions are a must.

Thanks
Jodi

I would definately recommend Mission Space and Test Track. These attractions both draw long lines, so I would highly recommend using a Fastpass for both. Mission Space could very much lead to some motion sickness (I felt really nauseauted afterwards), and I wouldn't recommend if you are claustrophobic or don't like dark spaces. Other wise, if you can get past all the warnings, it is an unbelievable ride. Test Track is alot of fun! Just sit back and enjoy...make sure you are holding on the whole time!

Was that your first visit? If so, I would start in Future World and do each of the activities at the pavilions. Lots of great stuff if you've never seen it. If you've been to everthing, then visiting everything again might be too much.

We've been many, many times but still enjoy the Living Seas, Spaceship Earth, The Land, World of Energy, Met Life, etc. In World showcase, I would suggest planning to snack your way around the world instead of a sit-down meal. We decided to try the fish/chips in the UK last year and just LOVED them!! We also caught the group that imitates the Beatles. Lots of street entertainers (esp Japan and China).

Wear your best walking shoes and make sure you get the daily entertainment schedule and read the maps. Some of the activities are tucked away in the pavilions, so you might need to read the maps to find out what is there.

Have fun ... we love Epcot (but do wish they'd spend some money on updating though).

Well, this is my favorite park (which is a surprise to people) and to me there are alot of not to miss shows and rides. They probably will vary between person, but here are some that I can't miss:

Mission Space (Great Ride)
Test Track (One of the best on Property)
Ice Station Cool (Free Drinks)
Body Wars (Old, but always a short ride and I always think I'm going on Star Tours in MGM, the ride type is the same)
Living W/ the Land
Journey Into Your Imagination (I find figment funny since I was five, that might just be me)
El Rio del Tiempo (If there is a long line I would skip, it's not a thrilling ride)
Maelstrom
Living Sea
O Canada (Like most of the movies in the World Showcase, you just need to see those once)
Universe of Energy

There a few that you could live with missing, but out of those I would have to do Mission Space, Test Track, Universe of Energy, and Living W/ the Land. Have Fun

I love the "Living Statues" in France. Check your guide for times. They just crack me up for some reason.

I haven't been in a few years (I've been doing Universal instead) but are getting annual passes soon. Epcot is definitely my favorite although the last time I went I didn't have kids. I now have a 2 year old and a 3 month old so it looks like the Kingdom will be where we go most of the time.

August was our first trip. We didn't do any activities so this is basically like going for the first time. I have no idea where to begin or what to do.

Here's my personal top ten. Maybe that will help you out.

1. Mission: SPACE
2. American Adventure Show and preshow featuring Voices of Liberty and/or American Vybe
3. Test Track
4. Maelstrom
5. Illuminations
6. Impressions de France
7. Masquarade Performances in Italy
8. El Rio Del Tiempo
9. Honey I Shrunk the Audience
10. World Showcase Players street show in the UK Pavillion

Three words: ROLAND THE MIME!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll echo everyone else who said that Test Track is a must-- we did it 3 times on our trip in June (once first thing in the morning, and twice more with good use of Fastpass. Haven't been on Mission:Space, but I'm sure it's up there, too.

Basically, all the Future World pavillions are worth visiting. My personal favorites besides TT were Spaceship Earth, Universe of Energy, and Living With the Land. Also, don't pass up Ice Station Cool so you can try the Beverly drink :teeth:

Make sure you stick around at night to see Illuminations. It's spectacular.

1. Illuminations
2. Illuminations
3. Illuminations

This past trip, I was able to see Illuminations every night except one-when I saw "Wishes". I never get tired of it.

I'll echo seeing the living statue, but that act is no longer in France. She (it's been a she everytime I've been this year) appears in Italy now and the name of the act is "Imaginum." She's terrific. Don't miss her! We just got back, my dad's first time in about 8 years, and she was his favorite! I think we saw her 3 times!

You can skip Innoventions in Future World which is really a giant arcade. Illuminations, at night, is really a must. We can't see it too many times-absolutely love it.:wave2: :goodvibes

Ice station cool is very unique, but not well pointed out on the guide map or signs. Yes, you have to walk through snow to get in, but it is neat trying the different drinks!

I was awestricken at the magnificence of China! If you are at all interested in China, don't miss that movie.

Bobbi:D

Don't miss these:
Mission:Space & game at end called Mission : Space Race (hugh video-type game-so much fun)
Test Track
Spaceship Earth(Do it in the eveing and there's no line)
Off Kilter in Canada(rock celtic band)
Honey, I Shrunk the Audience
Journey Into Imagination
Maelstrom in Norway
The Living Statues
American Adventure
Illuminations
Ice Station Cool
Body Wars(best seats in row 5)

If you have time:
Living With the Land
Universe of Energy(45 min. long)
Movies in Canada and China
Stores in Japan and China
Boat ride in Mexico

The patisserie in France is just wonderful. It's tucked back in the corner on the left hand side as you enter the area. My trip is not complete unless I get something from there after dinner, then pick out a good spot from which to watch Tapestry of Nations (which is no longer there :( ) and/or Illuminations while enjoying my yummy dessert.

Another one people haven't mentioned yet are the acrobats at China. Those kids are amazing.

(sorry if this ends up being a double post - I realized a grammar mistake after I hit submit)
