What NON Disney song reminds you of Disney?

Dude looks like a lady, walk this way or Love in an Elevator .... almost any upbeat Aerosmith tune cause of RNR coaster

Once Upon a December also makes me think about Disney. (It's from Anastacia).

The reason is because I told one of my staff that I hate that people THINK Anastacia is a Disney movie. (We used the song in the recital last year ... I own a dance studio.) She proclaims "YES IT IS ... IT IS DISNEY!" She is a huge Disney freak as well so I thought maybe I was wrong.

Nope ... I was right ... is Fox Family Films ... not Disney!

I have not told her she was wrong yet ... looking for an opportunity ... don't mess with the Disney best! LOL

Well, it's Disney NOW after the Fox buy. Anastasia feels like Disney becauase it was by Don Bluth, a former Disney animator. I often describe it as "the best non-Disney movie that ever Disneyed." It is now on Disney+ too, but unfortunately Bluth's second production for Fox, Titan A.E. is not (probably because of music rights). That's a good one too.

"Life is a Highway"
I remember driving down with my friend's family (they were kind enough to bring me for a few years on their yearly trip) and my friend was OBSESSED with that song

They use this in the movie Cars and it is often played during the Cars segments of shows and parades - at Disneyland anyway. It is not the original version, but I believe the Rascal Flats version.

Also, I noticed this is a zombie thread, but it's still fun!

It also reminds me on that episode of the office where Michael is helping Holly move and it gets stuck on the radio for hours...I felt kind of like that on this trip 🤣

When I was a kid we drove from southwestern Ontario to Orlando. The hit song at the time was Don't Speak by No Doubt. It was played on all the radio stations. My mom also wore Dior's Dune and whenever I smell it I'm transported back to 1996 when I'm a little kid going to Disney for the first time.
The other song is The Motto by Drake and Lil Wayne. It reminds me of the first time I went to Disney with my partner and that was our jam at the time.

Perhaps on the cynically funny side ... Britney's ... Oops! I did it again ...

Here's another one...

...Us Disney fans are bound to imagine Peter Pan and Tinker Bell soaring to Neverland or over EPCOT and/or Magic Kingdom, when hearing this song:

Good song, Thunder, I like that one. :thumbsup2
Thanks!

Heck, if Magic Kingdom's nighttime fireworks show changes, it should be to one [a nighttime fireworks show] who's theme song (in the same manner that the original song "Happily ever after" was the "Happily ever after" fireworks show's theme song) is a *reworded version of "Waiting for a star to fall" (1988) about dreaming and fantasy and magic (the same way the Jonas Brothers adapted Kim Wilde's "Kids in America" (1981) into their own "Kids of the Future" for "Meet the Robinsons" (2007))!

How would that sound?

*Here is my sample take on that:

Wish upon on a falling star

(reworded version of Boy Meets Girl’s “Waiting for a star to fall” (1988) for Magic Kingdom fireworks)

(Intro, like the original “Waiting for a star to fall” (1988), but 100,000,000 times more “Disney-fied”)

MALE:

I feel a spell whispered on the wind

It's so strong it makes me cry

FEMALE:

I hear the music pulse again and again

Through my mind and I don't know why

BOTH:

I never thought I’d feel so strong in ecstasy

But happiness and love abound around me

BOTH:

Running after your heart

Is like running after a star

MALE:

So many people dream big, baby

You know that’s who we are

BOTH, MALE:

Wish upon on a falling star

To carry the magic to your heart

That's where it belongs

In our hearts, baby, yeah

When you wish upon on a falling star

It carries you far beyond the stars.

That's where we belong

With the fantasy, yeah

MALE:

I strongly feel what I cannot see

But now, it’s all real vision

FEMALE:

It all comes alive, dream after dream

Let’s embark on this daring mission

BOTH:

We’re gonna fly into a fantasy

It’s time to let your mind go wild and go free

BOTH:

Running after a dream

Is like running after a star

No turning back to reality, baby

When we have flown this far

BOTH (with choir harmonies), MALE:

Wish upon on a falling star

To carry the magic to heart

That's where it belongs

In our hearts, baby, yeah

When you wish upon on a falling star

It carries you far beyond the stars.

That's where we belong

With the fantasy, yeah

Wishing (however long)

We’re only wishing (upon a star)

It’s so much wishing (won't be too long)

Seems like wishing

Makes me dream even more

Dreaming (however long)

Of all the stories (the battles and glories)

We’re always dreaming (come fly with Peter Pan)

Just a matter of time (before we soar)

Into the wonders of Neverland

Spoken interlude during Bridge 2

CHILD’S voice:

Think of the happiest things,

It’s the same as having wings.

To the stars beyond the blue,

There’s Neverland waiting for you.

You can fly, you can fly, YOU CAN FLY!!

Key change: D# major to F major

(Saxophone solo)

Spoken interlude during another chorus-length instrumental interlude

Peter Pan or Aladdin voice:

When set free, your imagination can take you anywhere on demand.

You can fly above to a whole new world, or to the mystics of Neverland.

Just let your heart and mind go free, and you will soar so far!

Cause when you wish upon a star, it truly makes no difference who you are!!

ACCOMPANIED BY CHOIR,
MALE AND FEMALE ALONE:

Wish upon on a falling star

To carry the magic to your heart

That's where it belongs

In our hearts, baby, yeah

When you wish upon on a falling star

It carries you far beyond the stars.

That's where we belong

With the fantasy, yeah

When you wish upon a falling star

It makes no difference who you are

Be yourself and drown in the magic, yeah

(Guitar solo 1)

Key change: F major to G major

Wish upon on a falling star

To carry the magic to your heart

That's where it belongs

In our hearts, baby, yeah

When you wish upon on a falling star

It carries you far beyond the stars.

That's where we belong

With the fantasy, yeah

When you wish upon a falling star

It makes no difference who you are

Be yourself and drown in the magic, yeah

When you wish upon a falling star

It makes no difference who you are

A dream’s a magic wish by our heart, yeah!

(Guitar solo 2)

Towards the end of the show, song starts up again and:

(Chorus in A major, until fade out)
