What nicknames do you have for rides???

That's funny...

Let's see, for us...

The Ellen ride=well, the Universe of Energy...I don't even know the REAL name :confused3

The Yeti Ride = EEverest

The Big Ball = Spaceship Earth

Figment = Journey Into Imagination(?)

The Norway Ride and The Mexico Ride = Malestrom/Rio del Tiemp

Universe of Energy - Ellen's nap ride
Hall of Presidents - Hall of Air Conditioning
Journey into Your Imagination - Figment

Mostly everything else is shortened to one word titles - aka Pan, Tower, Pirates, Buzz, Thunder, Splash, Everest, Safari, etc

While my husband and I LOVED "Soarin", my too-cool 12 year old dubbed it "Snorin'". These dang kids...don't know what's good for 'em!!!

I forgot about "Figment", and I call Fantasmic, Orgasmophobia or Fantasamagoria.

Not a ride, but it will always be "The Village" to me and my family. (DTD) We're old school. ;)

RnRC is "Aerosmith"
Journey Into Imagination is "Figment"
Star Tours is "Star Wars"
Space Mountain is "The Hare Krishna Ride" (after seeing a large group of Hare Krishnas headed for it in a downpour one year)

Being frequent DLR visitors, we had to have a *code* word for Disneyland, which we call *D*. Now everyone in our family calls it *D*.
With all the horrible accidents we've seen happen on BTMRR at the DLR, we now call it the Train of Death.

We pretty much stick with the official name. heh. Though I think my dad likes to call Misson: Space, Misson to Mars. heh.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: it's a small world , i call it the ride from he double tooth picks. can you tell i don't like it .the rest of my family has the same name for cop .then we start a singing battle them it's a small world after all and me it.s a great big beautiful tomorrow :lmao: :lmao:

At Epcot, a few years ago now, I asked one of my young grandchildren if he would like to ride Spaceship Earth. He gave it a long look, and said "No. I don't want to ride that. It might be mookie in there!"

Ever since, the big Epcot ball has been "The Mookie Ball" to our family.

TTA: Peoplemover, its just much quicker and easier to say, they shouldnt have changed it

Splash Mountain: Splash

BTMRR: Thunder

Space Mountain: um, Space Mountain (Somehow that one gets the full name)

POTC: Pirates

Maelstrom: That Norway ride

El Rio Del Tiempo: Mexico ride
We use all those you use, and we also just shorten everything up, Buzz, Pooh, Muppets, The Ball, Figment, etc., and some get a full name. Maybe it's what part of the United States we're from.

I'm so glad that there are so many others that have fun nicknames and things for the rides! I thought we (me and my friends) were the only ones!

Rock n Roller Coaster is "Aerosmith"

Tower of Terror is "T.O.T"

we call splash mountain - "Splash! ah ah" (imagine to the tune of flash gordon, hopefully, someone will understand... they would say his name like this... Flash, ah ah!)

the monorail is the "highway in the sky"

good times!!! can't wait to go!!!! :goodvibes

My dad must call BTMRR "the runaway train". :confused3 :rotfl:

Journey into Imagination is simply "the figment ride".

Ellen's Universe of Energy = "Ellen"
We just got back on Saturday from a trip with my parents who had not been to WDW since 1977. The day we were at Epcot, my mom asked what was next. I told her we were going to "ride Ellen". My mom just looked at me weird and said, "I don't even want to know what kind of ride that is!"

Journey into Imagination = "Figment"

Epcot = "EpCrotch" (I don't know why we started calling it that! :confused3 )

SpaceShip Earth = The Golf Ball
Jungle Cruise = The Jungle Snooze
Primevil Twirl = EPrimevil Hurl (sorry, but we just cannot do it)

I think that is all really - I think we call everything else by the correct name. :)

J Cruise = The Jungle Snooze

I normally felt the same way, but was so glad when I did it last time (due to my friends never going and they wanted to see it). Of course, the ride is dated, but our Skipper was AMAZING. I'm actually sending a compliment letter on him. Skipper Ryan! If anyone knows him on here, let him know that he has a fan in five girls that took his cruise!! He was funny, animated and fantastic. He made a tired attraction come alive. The entire boat never stopped laughing.

And this girl has been on that ride so many times I could barf!

I called the TTA the blue thingie! Also, space mountain is the dark coaster for obvious reasons. I call the monorail Mickey's Express! BTW, I'm not trying to stray from the topic but is there anyone who still calls attractions by their old name? For example, I did get a few funny looks when asking the CMs about where the Peoplemover was. (Sorry, I forgot that it was renamed TTA). I also accidentally called Mission: Space by its old attraction name Mission to Mars. Has anyone done that before?

When my daughter was about 2 years old she kept calling Epcot, POPCOT. So to ur family, it is forever Popcot! :goodvibes

Hulagirl87: I know EXACTLY what you're talking about, I love that crazy movie!

My DD called IASW: The Dancing Kids, can't convince her otherwise!
