With the announcement of new ticket discounts for DVC members, what other changes or amenities would you like included in the DVC program?

Meal Plan! I think I would like to have the option of doing somthing similar to the magic your way meal plan that is starting.

Great idea!

I think a meal plan would be a nice feature. Further, I'd like to see DVC go back to assigning rooms (and requests) based on advance booking and/or home resort status versus the way it's done now.

FREE BEER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1: :jumping4: :jumping4: :jumping4: :jumping4: :jumping4: :earboy2:

Rather than a pre-paid meal plan, I'd be thrilled (since we usually spent 15 to 20 nights per year) to be able to purchase the DDE card, or have a set 15% to 20% Dining Discount at all table service restaurants. Pre-paid plans, while convenient, generally save little or no miney, unless you always eat big meals(appetizer, entree and dessert)

We use the 20% lunch discount at Chefs, and I hope it continues next year.

EDIT: I just went through our room charges, and added up our meal bills (including tips). We ate breakfast in our room 4 mornings/at Olivia's 5 mornings. For the 9 nights we were there, we had a full service meal daily (sometimes 2), or a full service and counter meal. We ate what we wanted, and the meal plan for those 9 nights would have been about $5 MORE per day. I don't see how a counter breakfast, 1 full meal, and a "snack" would save any $$$ on the plan. It would be a convenience you "pay for". That is assuming that they would have charged $35 per adult (2) for 9 days. Now if they also charged for both arrival AND departure days (10 days), we would have lost $112.86 eating on the plan during our trip.

I"m with Chuck on this one. I would never use a prepaid dining plan but I WOULD like a discount on all sit down Disney owned restaurants!

That would certainly convince DH to add on more points LOL :cool1:

I think a meal plan would be a nice option, but I don't think we would ever use it either.

The meal plan (assuming its the same plan as the MYW tickets plan) would save us money. Remember not every discount or perk will work for everyone. We don't benefit from the APs (though I'm glad others will).

I'd like to see a small discount (10%) on the MYW tickets for us short term travelers and the guests of us all. Since the tickets already are cheaper for us than what we were buying, it doesn't bother me not to have it.

Although the meal plan may not work for some it will save a lot for others (not everybody likes to cook while on vacation) so one more vote for the:

MEAL PLAN!!!!

Like Crisi said "not every discount or perk works for everyone", i.e. the AP won't work for me personally but it works great for you, in turn, the meal plan might not work for you but it might work for others.:D

Yes, but a simple dining discount plan works for everyone!

I like the idea of a simple dining discount plan. I know we are not Florida residents, but something similar to their dining discount would be very nice.

First off let me say I am really happy with the AP discount and I feel greedy asking for more, but since you asked, I have to agree with the simple dining discount. I have looked at the meal plans for our family and they would not work. First off I think they would cause us to eat more. Second, I think we would end up going in search of places to eat since we are not always in a position to have 1 counter service place and 1 full service place etc... and Third, I don't think it would save us money.

As a former CM, I had a simple dining discount and boy was that nice. It was just a straight 20% off at most locations. I will miss that on my next trip.

I would like to see a discount for all tickets... the anual pass discount is great, but for those of us who go for 7-9 nights only once a year a discount on the regular tickets would be better as well as the annual pass for those who do use it.

A discount of some sort (more than they already have) for dining would also be wonderful. We get a studio and basically only eat breakfast in the room.. sometimes lunch.

okay I might be wrong - but doesn't the annual pass itself have a dinning discount????

yes the florida resident dinning discount would be great.

but for now I am just very happy with the annual pass! :cheer2: :tilt: :bounce:

I'm with a few others here-the AP discount was a great perk; but since you asked what else, I'd love to see DVC lounges in the parks, similar to the AP lounges of a few years back. We very rarely meet other DVCers on a daily basis, and I'd love the opportunity to sit and chat with other DVCers besides occassionally at the resort. Generally, more opportunities to have functions with other DVCers (the merry mixers were a great idea-wish I could have gone).

I guess that the simple dining discount plan would be a good idea - we already have ours: it's called "eating off-site" ;).

I'd really like to see DVC lounges in the parks. Primarily as places to take a break in a little peace and quiet and also to socialize a bit. This shouldn't cost that much - just a room w/nice chairs, maybe some bottled water; the CM could also do double duty as a DVC spokesperson ["Have you heard about our AP bonus for add-ons?"].

Spiceycat, the APs do have some dining discounts...about 10% at select restaurants. However, it would be much simpler to say DVCer get x% at all Disney owned full service (including buffet) restaurants...or X% at lunch, Y% at dinner...non-Disney restaurants could particpate, at their option.

DDE (FL residents) pay a fee (75 first yeat, $60 renewal) for 20% off...I don't know if it applies to lunch and dinner, or just dinner. Only one card is needed for up to a party of 10 people...they could restrict that to 5 or 8 for DVCers, since they are restricting our APs to a max of 8 people.

Add one more vote for a discount for all sit down restaurants.
