What movies should we watch in preparation for our Universal trip? My kids are 6,9,11, all boys. We've seen Shrek and Back to the Future, Cat in the Hat,that is about it. Are there any others that we should watch so that we will get more out of the rides/parks?

TIA,
Katy :sunny:

Yes, Men In Black (both of them) ET, Twister, Jaws, the Mummy (new one) the Terminator (all 3), Spider Man (both), and any documentary you can find about the parks. I always watch my collection of docs of the parks I have before I go. (Especially Men in Black and the Spider man films)

I would also add Dudley Do Right and Jurassic Park if you are doing IOA and USO. (Jurassic Park if you think your boys would like that. Don't know about age.)

I agree, but honestly you could get away with just watching MIB 1, and the second Terminator movie (especially since the 3rd one came out long after the park attraction).

YES YES YES, I can't believe I left out Jurassic Park, being that that is my favorite ride at the park!!! Definitely have to watch at least the first JP movie!!!

Beetlejuice show is actually better than the movie I think though :goodvibes

Just keep in mind that some of these IOA attractions, like Spider-Man and Cat in the Hat, are not based on the movies.

What a fun thread!!! Great ideas everyone. I think my kids might be ready for Beetlejuice!!!

Woot!

Where can I find the documentary about the parks.?

That's a tough one man, for I just taped them when they came on. I think Discovery Channel had one and the Travel Channel has had several. I would look at the Disco Channel website, they may have some listings of thier documentaries which could include the one I have about the Making of Islands of Adventure. I'm not sure what its called though. There is actually more than one on the parks, both Dis and U. But I know for a fact some of them came off of the Disco channel so you may try that first. The travel channel just ran a couple this weekend about AK and Dis that I taped again. Can't have too many copies!
