What movies did you show your kids before DL?

Here's a sort of funny question: what movies did you find it most helpful to show your kids before your trip to DL? For instance, when my friend took her kids (3 and 1) to DL last year, she was very excited when Wendy came to their table at Goofy's Kitchen... but her kids had no idea who she was!

I don't know about which movies (DS won't sit through a long movie) but I made a book for DS3 before the first time we took him. I used stickers and found pictures of the characters on the internet and I cut out characters from a dollar store disney workbook and glued them into a sketchbook and wrote the character's names next to them. I also included pictures of the castle, some of the rides and the fireworks. I picked characters that I knew there was rides for, plus pictures of the main characters (mickey, minnie, etc).

I guess one movie we did watch was the Disneyland sing along movie but I know that wasn't exactly the type of movie you were thinking of.

Oh, my kids LOVE the sing-a-long Disneyland Fun video! Love the idea of the workbook, too!

They actually have both been to Disneyland before -- last year, at ages 3 and 1, and then my son perhaps 2 or 3 times before age 2, but this year, they both seem like they are really going to GET IT, if you know what I mean.

When my kids were younger we showed them the planning DVD's/CD's. They still will dig them out and watch them in preparation.

I too watch the Disneyland Sing-Along! I watched it so many times as a kid that I nearly wore the tape out. Luckily they came out with the DVD. I still have to watch it before a trip to DL, and I am 24 and married! DH and my parents think it is hillarious!

If your kids don't sit through movies too well, you could read them the stories. They have lots of colorful books with the classic stories.

Well for us... we drive from San Jose so its about a 5 1/2 to 6hour drive....So we usually watch Alice in wonderland , peter pan, Nemo, Toy story, Nightmare before Christmas.

If you're planning to see the Aladdin show, you might also want to watch that movie (plus, Jasmine often stops by the table at Goofy's Kitchen).

Our daughter is 2 and we watch the SingAlong Songs, Disneyland Fun, where the kids go all over Disneyland as they sing different songs. We also watch bugs life (since CA has bugs land), Monsters Inc., finding Nemo and usually one of the Princess movies. I think any of the movies would be great, especially if they hold the childrens attention. Have Fun!!

We like to get movies all lined up before the trip, about 6 weeks, and then have movie night every Friday night before the trip.

Sing alongs sing alongs sing alongs till I am purple! LOL and we have 2 old day at Disneyland DVDs they loved. But my kids are old enough that we bought every single Disney VCR tape when they came out LOL they have seen them all LOL

We showed our girls Peter Pan & some Mickey Mouse movies, believe it or not they had not been exposed to Mickey & his friends prior to that, the 3 Musketeers ended being a real fave.

They already knew Dumbo, Winnie the Pooh, Monsters Inc, Nemo
& a whole lot of the Princesses movies.

But I do wish I had shown them Sleeping Beauty, Alice in Wonderland & Pinocchio, would of helped them enjoy Fantasyland just that bit more.

Another vote for the Disneyland Fun Sing Along!

I don't know anything about showing movies to my kids... since I don't have any. Kids... not movies.

But I watch, Jungle Book, Peter Pan, Mary Poppins, Snow White, Little Mermaid, Aladdin, POTC, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Pinnochio, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, plus lot's of classic cartoons with the FAB 5,

I plan on watching some new ones before my sept trip. Preferably Sleeping Beauty, Dumbo, Toy Story and a bug's life. Oh and I gotta throw in some Twilight zone episodes.

Don't forget the movie Tower of Terror with Steve Guttenberg. It's about the hotel that the ride is in.
We watched Nemo once on the way down there and there is a scene when Dory is asleep and she says "that sea monkey has my money" (I think) and when we went to Turtle Talk with Crush, my DD asked Crush if Dory ever got her money back from those Sea Monkeys. It was FUNNY!!!
