Some of them haven't been on in a very long time and would be fun to view again.

I'd like to see the following.

The 6 Wives of Henry the 8th. PBS

Rich Man. Poor Man. Two words.... Nick Nolte!

The Way We Live Now. PBS

The Awakening Land. Starred Elizabeth Montgomery. :thumbsup2

The Buccaneers. PBS

Holocaust

The Martian Chronicles

And of course my all time favorite TV presentation EVER...

I, Claudius. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Rich Man Poor Man and North and South both are my favorites.

I loved I, Claudius! I'd like them to rerun Shogun, because I think my DS 16 would enjoy it. He's fascinated with Japanese culture, mostly due to video games and anime, I'm sure. :goodvibes

I loved shogun - I read the books which were good -but long
I really liked the "Thorn Birds" when it came out (I was a teenager)-but in re-watching it it isn't very well acted. IMO
Have you checked netflix for some of these? They may be available.

Ditto I Claudius.

I've found that video/DVDs can make the whole experience more palatable. There are no commercials (and yes, I know that Claudius was on PBS) and you can watch at your leisure. DW and I once watched Centennial this way, and enjoyed it. We also laughed at some bad performances and some very bad make-up.

OMG, wasn't that the show with the worst facial hair?? We were laughing ourselves silly over the bad make up. :rotfl:

Virgo if you like historical mini-series you might enjoy ROME from HBO. DH and I have been getting it from netflix and are hooked.
It is not a mini series however -it is just a regular series. I have read that it is so expensive they are only making two seasons. It is very "adult" and I read some reviews that thought it was trashy and had unecessary explicit content. I must be a bit low class in my tastes -I really like it!! ;)

Another vote for North and South

Stephan Kings The Stand. Awesome book awesome mini series :thumbsup2

I liked Backstairs at the White House. It was a behind the scenes look at all the employees at the White House. Very interesting.

Ooo, I had forgotten about that. Wonderful show. That's really one they should put on again.

North and South. I loved that mini series!!!

North and South and Roots. Is the Autobiography of Aunt Jane Pittman a mini-series or just a movie? I loved that as a child!

Also, what's the mini-series with "Whatcha plantin', Foxy?" I remember really enjoying that one. :)

DH and I were just talking the other day Centennial and were wondering if we would enjoy it as much today as we did 30 years ago. I have a feeling we wouldn't, but I would like to see it again.

The name of this one was "Chiefs". That line is a joke with my family. Sometimes I will go up to one of my sisters and say "Whatcha plantin', Foxy". I know, kinda strange.
