What Method Does Your Area Use To Vote?

We use the "broken arrow" system too. You take the pen and connect the broken line next to the candidate that you want to vote for. Then you feed it into the locked machine.

I had punch cards---eww. I hate those things. In New Mexico it was a computerized screen. I loved that one.

Bush was first on my ballot.

We had to fill in the oval with a #2 pencil, then the ballot goes into a locked ballot box.

We had to mark an "X" in the square for who we wanted. President Bush was listed first on ours. We also had to put ours in a locked box when we were done.

We still have the paper that you check off with a pencil in a booth with a curtain. It takes three minutes to vote and then another 22 minutes to figure out how to fold the thing!!

We also have broken arrows here. My question (as I'm sitting here listening to so many people having trouble with the chads or with the touch screens) is are the more "high-tech" voting machines really that much better? One lady kept having Bush come up when she was trying to vote for Kerry. That kind of mistake could just not happen with the type of system we have.

Am I wrong? Is it because they are faster? I am the only one who touched my form...I filled in the arrows, carried it to the machine, and that was it.

We had computer touch screen ones. And it wasn't very private at all. If you simply turned your head while walking past the booths, you could have seen people's votes. They didn't ask for any ID at ours either which I thought was odd.
