What Means "Ay, Caramba?"--Famous for Family of the Day!,Sept TR-Cape May HooRay 4/14

So excited to read your latest report!!!! I very much enjoyed your last one as well as the first and not to mention your AWESOME video from the 2nd trip. Our daughter was just diagnosed with a dairy allergy so the info you provided in the 2nd trip report was very helpful! We are headed down in Feb, 2014 so it will change her dining experiences. Can't wait to read more!

Your trip report has brought me out of hiding! It's my 1st ever comment and subscription...and I've been lurking for 5 years :wave2:. I've enjoyed all your trip reports and think your family sounds like too much fun! Thanks for sharing!

Brynn's reaction the the giant bug...awesome! My quirky-amazing 3yr old has that very reaction to flies . Summer is real fun.

Same here!

Jenn, I lurked on your last TR and had to sign up for the DIS! Your family reminds me of mine when I was a kid; except we were a lot less organized :rotfl:

Can't wait to read the rest of this TR :thumbsup2

I am so glad you ran into the massage therapist at dance. Palmetto bugs are gross but at least there were no bed bugs!

Hey,

I maaaaay have done a small happy dance when I saw your update today. :cheer2:

I would like to know what was Julia's reaction when she found out she was going to miss one day of "instructional learning time" (aka: school). I mean, I know it's Disney, but last year she was not ok with that... :confused3

I totally understand Brynn. I'd have the same reaction, but if there were geckos (wall lizards) in my room. I hate them so much. :scared:

Joining in! We were lucky enough to be picked to open the MK last year on 9/2/12 and it was definitely our best trip ever! Can't wait to read how your day went being that "lucky family".

It's an interesting mix of anti-abortion ads that are sometimes graphic, church ads about going to Hell, and half-naked ladies on signs for strip clubs. Let me just go ahead and tell you that while north Georgia is absolutely gorgeous and worth a visit, south GA can be skipped. No offense to people from there...but, yeah.
He vetoed the Gone with the Wind tour!?!?!:scared1::lmao:

Gotcha, will cross "South Georgia billboard tour" off the list :rotfl2:
He's vetoed a lot. Apparently we are not rich and cannot stay in the US for 6 months. Men! LOL
This is why I want a split stay with part in POR, so I can 'pretend' I'm visiting The South LOL! Gone With The Wind was my favourite book and therefore movie in 6th grade! I'm a tragic geek I know.

I am so excited to read another one of your amazing TRs! You have such a beautiful family and it is so great to be able to see Disney through your children's eyes! Reading your reports really makes my crazy days better! :goodvibes I can't wait to read the rest!!!!

Great update! :)
Thanks! I'm glad the "getting there" update is over so I can get to the good stuff now.

Oh goodness, what a rough couple of days leading up to your trip! I'm with you - I have no shame either, especially when in pain! I'm glad that grandma was able to help you out!

So sorry your hotel stay was so rough that first night. I hate it when good hotels change brands and begin to suck. I'm glad you survived it at least! The getting there is always the hardest it seems!
I had never seen that lady before and haven't seen her since, so she may have been my guardian angel or something. I definitely got some strange looks for letting a stranger rub all over me. Pain there, don't care.
Getting there is the hardest for sure. And writing about getting there is hard, too. Glad all this was behind us.

Ahahaha, "Picture It"... Love Golden Girls!! :lmao:

Holy, what a story and you hadn't even arrived yet. Sorry about your back, but so glad to hear it was better before leaving.

YIKES to that hotel experience. A lot of the hotels on the 192 have been dumping the free breakfasts, which I find strange. And that level of service (or lack thereof) is inexcusable. What an awful experience. I do love that little note on the door though. Adorable!!!

Ahhhhh, then to finally drive under that sign with the angels singing and the harps playing... Pure Bliss!! :lovestruc
See, I did not know that. I probably should have researched more, but it was a spur-of-the-moment decision to leave early. I called to see if we could add that night to our stay at ASMovies, but we couldn't. The planner and Disney Snob in me cried a little.
It was the best drive under the arch ever.

I've never posted to your TRs before but officially love them! Your pictures are gorgeous! Definitely subscribing to this one.

No kids of my own yet but I have to tell you, reading about your family makes me so excited to take my kids to WDW one day! And considering I will raise them on Disney everything, they better love it as much as I do! :thumbsup2

Oh and if you ever need a WDW mother's helper...I'm totally available...:rolleyes1
You are so sweet! I give all photo credit to my hubby (Fantasylannd Dad...yes, it is misspelled), unless the photos come from my Instagram, lol! Occasionally I took some of the pictures but honestly don't remember which ones.
I have often thought I'd love to have someone around to help. You are so kind to offer your services :lmao:!

I'm a little late, but I'm subbing! I really enjoyed your last TR and cannot wait to read about your family's latest adventure.

That stinks that you had such bad luck getting there. I hope things get better (judging by that Family of the Day picture, I'm sure they do) :teeth:

I feel for Brynn. I'd be screaming if I saw those bugs in my room too :crazy2:
They get much, much better. :thumbsup2
I feel for her, too. I wanted to scream and run out of there, but I was trying to hold it all together. I was screaming on the inside!

Yikes those bugs sound horrendous, we don't have big bugs here so we'd be pretty freaked out too :rotfl:

The service at that hotel was terrible, what is up with people?!?!
I have only seen bugs like those in Florida, and then only at Panama City Beach, never at Disney. DISGUSTING.
I don't know. They didn't have the hospitality training or something. They definitely weren't Disney employees, that's for sure!

More, more!!! Your family makes me smile!! I lurked :cool2: through your last report & video, & loved them both.
Awww! They make me smile, too! And so do nice TR followers!:goodvibes

An update! And even better....an update I'm reading from WDW!!!

I'm glad to know that Steak and Shakes are slow everywhere. We have one by my house and it always takes forever.

That hotel...yikes. I would have marched down to the front desk and at least demanded free breakfast. And then probably called the corporate number to complain anyway. But I also graduated with a degree in hotels and lodging, so I have absolutely no tolerance for things like that. I know how it's supposed to be and I know that generally they have the power to fix it.

I'm glad you're back was ok too!!! That must have been absolutely horrible for two days not knowing how it would be.
LUCKYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay, part of story I didn't add. That morning, I did march into the lobby with the intent to do just that (or to complain...didn't know I could demand, really), but there was such a nice guy who had replaced the demon front desk worker from the night before, and I just couldn't bring myself to be mean. I wanted to. Sheesh.

I have a bad back too....Now send her my way!!! Lol.

I will always drive straight to Disney and will not stay in Orlando now. Thanks for the update. Now starts the Magic once you passed the arches. Can't wait to hear more!
Hahahaha! I haven't seen her since! Maybe I dreamed her up!
My hopes in reporting this is that everyone will steer clear of that place. Makes me shiver.

That was pretty entertaining for a first "travel day" update! Glad the bad stuff hit early and thanks for the 'spoiler' that it's uphill from here. We had a horrible ending to our trip a year ago and I'm a little gun shy to go back. Glad to hear you have had a couple good trips since your 'sick' trip. I will have to go back and read that one and get the courage to try again! I'm very happy to get to follow another great trip and thank you for sharing!
I was extremely gun shy after that trip of sickness we had. In fact, I didn't try MNSSHP again last year because I was scarred for life, and we haven't gone back to water parks because of the same reason for Brandon. We did do MNSSHP this year and were happy to finally erase the bad experience. Trying again is hard...but so worth it!

Ok, getting there is out of the way..now let's hear about Disney! wahooo

That's exactly how I feel!:woohoo:

Looking forward to reading! My second grade DD wants to be a director as well!! We're staying at ASMo in Nov! What did you think? Anything we need to do? Avoid?

Can't wait to read more!
Ahhh, how cool!
I'm going to update soon with resort details, but I'll give you a little preview. She'll love the way the food court looks. There's even an old movie camera in there! But you really need to go during off-peak eating times. REALLY.
All the big icons outside of buildings impressed my kids.
The pool is great and looks like you're in Hollywood with the giant star in the background and rows of palm trees. Touring the resort in general is great.
The rooms are small, but we did just fine in them with five of us! Of course, we're not really resort dwellers. If we're at the resort, we're out and about exploring it or sleeping.
ENJOY!

I enjoyed your last TR and I'm looking forward to hearing about your newest adventure. We were there at the same time as your family! But we didn't make it to a single rope drop all week (we were sure close though) so we missed your moment of fame.
On our first trip we were always close and never made it, so I know how that feels!
It's okay. You can re-live our fame here:rotfl2:.

Didn't realize you started your TR!! Following along :)
Just started! :welcome:

Following along...my name is Jenn too and I also lurve tv shows from the 80's!!!
Obviously we are both awesome!!:rotfl:

Your trip report has brought me out of hiding! It's my 1st ever comment and subscription...and I've been lurking for 5 years :wave2:. I've enjoyed all your trip reports and think your family sounds like too much fun! Thanks for sharing!

Brynn's reaction to the giant bug...awesome! My quirky-amazing 3yr old has that very reaction to flies . Summer is real fun.
WHOA! That's spectacular!!
I get you on the fly thing. Brynn is like that, too. FUN. But some days, in her quirky way, she just decides to catch them mid-flight. I've been told that people on the spectrum see "more frames per second," so to speak, and she can just see where they're going and gently grab them out of the air. It's so graceful...and gross. Then she goes back to screaming at them the next day. The love bugs at WDW were also fun:rolleyes:.

I'm so glad that info helped you! We're lucky that now we don't have to watch for that, as she's mostly outgrown it. She still cannot tolerate yogurt at all, but she can have cheese and milk in small amounts. She limits herself naturally, though, because she remembers how she feels if she has too much. It's a tough thing to deal with, so I'm glad we're at this point, but I know others don't always get this lucky. The chefs are very precise, as you know from reading that TR, so you will be fine!

Same here!

Jenn, I lurked on your last TR and had to sign up for the DIS! Your family reminds me of mine when I was a kid; except we were a lot less organized :rotfl:

Can't wait to read the rest of this TR :thumbsup2
WOW! I'm just amazed at this! It makes me want to keep writing, for sure! THANK YOU:goodvibes!

I am so glad you ran into the massage therapist at dance. Palmetto bugs are gross but at least there were no bed bugs!
Me, too! No such thing as a coincidence, I think.
EW. I still shiver ever time I think about it.

:scared:
 Hooray for happy dances!
We prepared her ahead of time for this, and she okayed it! Originally we were going to leave during the day on Friday, so we asked her permission. I guess because she's older (or already knows all they're studying :confused3), she agreed! I'm glad, because I remember how much she objected before. She can be a very serious little girl!
LOL! I'd be better with geckos! Okay, in reality, neither are good:laughing:.

Joining in! We were lucky enough to be picked to open the MK last year on 9/2/12 and it was definitely our best trip ever! Can't wait to read how your day went being that "lucky family".
Isn't it the best feeling?!? I'm still amazed.

Gotcha, will cross "South Georgia billboard tour" off the list :rotfl2:
He's vetoed a lot. Apparently we are not rich and cannot stay in the US for 6 months. Men! LOL

Huh. Who knew:confused3!? If you'd like me just to come visit you and tell you all about life here, I'm open to that;).
We're considering POR for a future trip, too. It's the south that I *wish* existed still.
You have no idea how deep my geek roots run.

I am so excited to read another one of your amazing TRs! You have such a beautiful family and it is so great to be able to see Disney through your children's eyes! Reading your reports really makes my crazy days better! :goodvibes I can't wait to read the rest!!!!

:goodvibes Thank you! Writing them makes my crazy days better, so it's a win-win!

You really went through the ringer getting ther didn't you?

What an awesome coincidence that yogi grandma was at ballet class! I'm glad you were feeling better.

That sounds like an adventurous non Comfort Inn stay. Yikes!

Maddie screams about bugs too. We may have had to make bryan stay up all night vowing to kill them.

So glad you're there!

More please!

So happy when I saw you started almost straight away good going :cheer2:. I would love to be in driving distance , even if its 10 hours plus !. Its a 9 hour plane ride for us. Poor Brynn with the bugs, they are gross and the more you see , you begin to feel itchy and scratchy. Now that you are in Disney proper cant wait for the next chapter :)

YAY!!! I'm so glad y'all had a good time!! I'm finally able to get some Dis time in so I'm reporting in and now I'm going back to start reading!!

Ahhh, the wonderful WBA signs!! Hollie caught sight of one on last years trip and the only thing I could muster out was, "They forgot half the sign. It was supposed to say We love our mom!!" Yep.....its all I could come up with! Ha ha ha

 Hooray for happy dances!

Hey, some geckos are quite nice thank you. ;)

Just catching up on your first update - sorry to hear of your back trouble, can just picture all the worrying about how it would impact the trip or even force the cancellation of it. At least stress is super good for ones wellbeing - at least that is what I tell myself.

And what a bad experience with that hotel. But like how dreary, rainy days help you appreciate cheerful, sunny ones, bad customer service lets you appreciate Disney CMs even more :)

I sure did, but it was all good from then on out!
Heck, we were up all night anyway! Maybe the kids just thought we were there to kill bugs and we were willing to stay up:rolleyes2.
Working on an update now!

yay! getting in from the (kind of) beginning!! :3dglasses
YES!!! Barely updated at all. This can totally count as the beginning.

Thank you, thank you! ::takes a bow:: Bonus points for starting quickly!
I'd take the nine hour plane ride if it meant living elsewhere ;-).

Following along!! :yay: Can't wait to read more!!
:cool1: Thanks for following!

YAY!!! I'm so glad y'all had a good time!! I'm finally able to get some Dis time in so I'm reporting in and now I'm going back to start reading!!
I'm glad you got some Dis time. I know that's hard to do sometimes! I've gone months with no Dis time before, and then I go through awful withdrawals. Happy you reported in!

Ahhh, the wonderful WBA signs!! Hollie caught sight of one on last years trip and the only thing I could muster out was, "They forgot half the sign. It was supposed to say We love our mom!!" Yep.....its all I could come up with! Ha ha ha
Bahahahahaha!!!! You get me!! Good cover.

Hey, some geckos are quite nice thank you. ;)
Okay, okay...you're the exception:rotfl2:.

Just catching up on your first update - sorry to hear of your back trouble, can just picture all the worrying about how it would impact the trip or even force the cancellation of it. At least stress is super good for ones wellbeing - at least that is what I tell myself.

My well-being was spectacular, then :lmao:!
I definitely appreciated Disney even more after that experience!

So excited to read about your most recent adventure! Loved the last two :) Your reports make it seem like we're there with you guys! I'm so excited to take our girls next year for the first time (they are the same age as yours) so you're helping tide me over while I wait! Looking forward to reading more.
