I keep going back and forth on whether or not to do the DDP for our September trip. DH is tired of hearing about food, so I need to make up my mind fast! LOL!!

I know if we are not on the DDP and we want to share a meal it is fine, but I'm guessing on the DDP we couldn't share a TS meal and just use one credit, right?

If you have shared CS and/or TS meals, which ones did you find large enough to splilt between two adults?

I've never shared a TS, but I actually think you can do that. I have shared CS meals. Last year at AK my DH and I used one CS credit for a pulled pork sandwich combo which comes with a side of baked beans. We also used a snack credit for an order of onion rings. We split the sandwich and he ate the beans and I had the onion rings. It was the perfect amount of food for us, since we had an earlyish dinner ADR that night.

Shared a chicken & rib combo at Cosmic Rays~ Chicken, ribs, potatoes, veg. Also a drink (at the time on the DDp I also got a dessert) Plenty, and yummy! (if you can handle the excessive crowd and noise ;)

DH and I have gotten the free dining plan every year they have offed it. We split both our breakfast and lunch counter services every day. This way we don't have to pay for anything out of pocket during our trip. We don't split our table service cause we use it for dinner and that is our big meal afer a long day. It works out well.

To fully explain. Since between us we get two CS and two TS. We split the counter services one for breakfast and one for lunch so that takes care of those and then we each have our own TS dinner. Remember for breakfast you get two drinks so you each can have your own drink (you pick what you like in the morning) and split the breakfast. Lunch we usualy split a double cheeseburger or chicken basket and get a soda and ask for extra cups to split up the drink. Dessert is what ever we both like to split. we usually agree. So no problem there. :goodvibes

Yes you can share at TS on DDP. :goodvibes This Sept. will be our 5th time using DDP. (once paid for, 4 x free!) and we've shared many meals. We found that if we wanted to eat our dessert and not take it with us we needed to share so we wouldn't be too full. This won't be as true this year since appies are no longer inc. Of course we will still order a few and pay OOP-chicken wings at Kona, for sure! Just let your server know when you order. No one even blinked when we did this. This also was true when we paid OOP for DD's meals. (This, along with sharing at a 2 TS restauant, allowed us to get in more meals!)

We have shared at Narcoossee's, Kona, Spoodles, Raglan Road, Le Cellier, and 50's PTC (for sure). There may have been a few more. And yes, as others have said, you can share at CS as well. Many times my DM and I shared a meal and sometimes we even shared 1 meal between us and DD. Cosmic Rays is good for this (DD8 is a small eater, most of the time)

Op, I've always wondered this. I always read post about people sharing their meals but I gotta be honest, I'm finding it hard to believe.
My family DH, me & 2 teenage boys have gone to just about every restaurant in the world and have yet to find portion size big enough to split and both parties be satisfied. No counting the buffets.
I'm just haven't seen any place where 2 ADULTS could eat and split the meal.

:lmao: I think we are just piggys b/c I agree with you. The only meal I've seen that even came close to us sharing is the ribs/chicken combo at cosmic rays and that's if 2 hours before we stopped at the MK bakery and each got a huge cinnamon roll or something huge to eat! By dinner we'd be starving too!

Hmm...maybe that's why I'm doing Weight Watchers to lose 10 pounds before my trip! :confused3 :goodvibes

DH and I don't eat many meals that we can share. We share a double burger and fries or the Tonosoma Combo at Yakitori or even the fish and chips in the UK. We just like a taste of things so we try a few things at different places and split them. By the time we're done we're full. We never split at a TS since we mostly do buffets or family style. We pick during the day and then do a buffet or family style for dinner. It actually saves us money doing it this way.

We often split CS between me and DD. And would use her child CS for breakfast or for a late night snack that we'd share between us. The child CS was often so unhealthy (chicken strips or mac and cheese) that splitting with me gave her healthier alternatives and some variation. For TS she'd order her own but would end up eating off our plates because she enjoys trying new foods. Lol. Every meal is 'family style' for our family.

We share a bratwurst in Germany. Especially if you get the giant pretzel as dessert.

Mom and I could have split the Tuna Sandwich at Columbia House- since we both ended up with half a sandwich leftover!

we've eaten at Liberty Tree Tavern at lunch several times and i've alway split my meal with my nephew and its a lot of food we always get the pot roast it is so good

I have to question 2 adults sharing a TS meal also. I have shared a CS meal with my Mom when we haven't been that hungry but normally I don't think it would work. I have actually been thinking about my 2 kids sharing an adult portion TS and wondering if that will be enough for the two of them. They will be a big eating 8 yo and an 11 yo that eats almost nothing, yet I'm still not sure it would work. We may need an appetizer also.
