We have a Sleep Number with a pillow-top and we love it. We can unzip, remove the innards and have it cleaned. The cushions can be wiped down with bleach. The platform is assembled plastic pieces that can be easily cleaned. I finally have a mattress I can clean thoroughly when dust mites get bad.

On the comfort side, I used to wake up with lower back pain and we were constantly flipping our old mattress. No more flipping and no more back pain. I am evenly supported from head to toe and I love adjusting the firmness, which helps with cramps.

For those who love their Stearns & Foster, which model do you have? There are several on the website. There are four variations of the pillowtop.

Thanks for the info!!

I don't really remember - I got it 3 years ago. I think it was one of the plush or ultra plush european pillowtop models. All I remember is lying on the mattress at the mattress store and nearly falling asleep.

I don't know what ours is, but it is NOT a pillowtop...we got it at sit n sleep...

We had a Serta Perfect Sleeper for 15 years and LOVED it. We now have a Simmons pillowtop, expensive, hate it. My DH especially hates it. He is sleeping in a deep hole after having it 6 years. We want desperately to replace it, but they don't sell the right size here. We will go Serta pillowtop again.

We bought a Heavenly Bed 1 month ago and it is the best thing we ever did! I highly recommend it!

While staying at a Holiday Inn a few years back in NC I had the best night's sleep ever. Pulling back the contour sheet revealed the mattress was a Spring Air. I wrote down the model number.

When I returned home I called Spring Air and asked them where I could get this model. I was informed that it was made only for the hotel industry, but I was instead given the name of a model for consumer use, similar to the one I had slept on in the hotel.

I went out and bought the Spring Air (very firm, but eventually softened a bit) and have had excellent sleep every since. I bought just the mattress, not the box, as I have a Swedish slat bed. The mattress was about $650 if I remember correctly.

I recommend always trying out a Spring Air mattress before you make your final purchase.
