There's a thread like this on the theme parks and attractions board and I'm curious to hear what makes you guys go back (or at least want to since we don't really pay for most of the trip...:)?

For me it's the magic. We just got back yesterday from a week at WDW and had a blast. On our first full day, we spent the afternoon at MK and entered during the Celebrate A Dream-Come-True parade. I'd heard that entering then was magical, and truly it made me tear up. We went back to MK for at least the evening every day of our trip. On our last day, we shopped on main street until 1 am (park closed at midnight) so we were one of the last families in the park. I stepped out of the emporium and sat on a park bench, ready to soak up my last memories of the trip when "When you wish apon a star" came on over the speakers. I started to tear up, then fully broke down when Mickey came over after the song ended. My 8-year-old brother started to pout, which combined with my crying eventually broke my mom down too. We cried not only on the way out, but the second and last day of our drive home. This trip it truly felt as of nothing else was happening in the world but our yearly fairytale. We come back because we get to just have fun for once, and that's okay-there's no one there to tell you to stop playing and do your chores or go to school. You get amazing service and cast members who truly want to make your day magical. Even at our resort (POR) the cast members were very friendly. I applaud them as well for their service on the 24 hour all-nighter because that had to have been tiring. The crowds were worse than I've seen in my life yet we still didn't want to go home. Next year we are doing a 7-day Fantasy cruise just after my birthday-so I get to celebrate on board-and while that's still so magical nothing beats walking down main street USA and seeing Cinderella's castle there waiting for you to come home.

I completely agree with the magic! Everyone crying in the car on the way home just makes you have to go back--one time we were so sad to see the vacation end, we booked our next trip as soon as we got home and unpacked! We go yearly, too. The service is fabulous. I love how every trip is different-whether anything in the park changed or not, it's always a new experience and each trip is always more magical than the last! I've always felt like Disney had magic that other theme parks don't (obviously) because of it's history, how hard Walt worked To get there, etc. I just love it and it's really hard to explain why!

Same, there's something about the atmosphere that it just feels really good to be in Disney. Also, I loooove being told "Have a magical day" and such. And most importantly the FOOD

Because we GET AWAY. From school drama to no drama. It's just... Like said above, the atmosphere. The potential of having a great time, the awesome food and rides, and just... Hard to explain. But I'll never stop going:cloud9:

Same! Knowing that I don't have to deal with things for just a little while! :yay:

For me it's not just things in the parks, it's like when I think I can smell Pizzafari. Or we have wash powder that smells like Disney sheets. Or when they play music in the bus station that sounds like park music... :)

Pizzafari smells amazing. And I love the smell of the cool breeze that hits you when you first walk into your resort

I love it, too! That breeze is just... yeah :rotfl:

It's definitely the magic. The atmosphere, ALL of the staff. Everyone is so friendly and when you're at Disney, you're heart is full of joy and magic. All the children, happy as can be to be in such a happy place is a very nice sight. The happiness, the joy, the love that the magic brings is enough to make anyone want to go back. :cheer2:

Disney World truly is the happiest place on earth. It's beautiful, full of beauty and adventure and dreams come true. When you're there you forget there is any other place on earth and when you leave you forget that there is any other place on earth. You only dream of Disney World.
