What make Palo brunch so special?

I've done Palo for dinner and loved it, but I see people raving about the brunch. Now that they have it on the Wonder 4-day, I might be interested in doing it. What is so special about the brunch?

The things I thought were special: the shrimp, the views (at dinner it was dark and couldn't see much) and the more casual feel of the atmosphere.

We did the brunch and dinner on our recent 4 night Wonder cruise. I think I probably enjoyed the brunch more, although I wouldn't want to miss either if I ever take another cruise. (Who am I kidding, of course I mean when I take another cruise!)

Both the brunch and dinner are more relaxed affairs than other meals aboard. My one criticism of onboard dining is that is all very rushed. We took almost 2 hours over brunch and, even then, we only sampled a small proportion of what was on offer. The minds were willing, but the stomachs protested!

The view at brunch is a plus - it's dark at dinner!

We did Palo brunch for the first time on cruise #6. I agree with the above posters.

As beautiful as Palo is in the evening - in the late morning with the sun shining in and water all around it is beautiful.

A wonderful selection of food and it is yours for the choosing. So it works well for both a gourmet and a picky eater.

A really nice variety of ordered selections so you truly can treat it as everything from a late breakfast to an early lunch.

We did it with a group in the private room so we also had great company to go with it.

I'm really glad we did it.

Oh, another thing - we decided to do the brunch on the same day as our dinner at Palo. We figured one meal mid-morning rather than breakfast and lunch would ensure we enjoyed our dinner.

I felt all our dining took to LONG in the regular dining rooms....we are not used to sitting at a table for an hour and a half eating a meal, it seemed like they didn't rush us at all, more like dragged it out! My daughter fell asleep a few times waiting for the dinner to be over, our server pulled 2 chairs together and made a "bed" for her and covered her with a tablecloth "blanket" to keep her warm....and that was at early seating LOL...normally she woke up soon after we were done and got her second wind for hte evening activities though.

We loved brunch at Palo! The filet mignon that I had at lunch was MUCH better than the filet mignon at (Palo) dinner. At brunch, it was sliced and extremely tender and flavorful. At dinner, it was still good, but not quite as tender or flavorful.

Another brunch item that DH and I still talk about is the stollen!! You can top it with fresh whipped cream and jam and it is to DIE FOR!!! ::yes::

Another nice aspect of brunch is that since it's during the day you have the beautiful ocean view out of the windows, while at dinner, oftentimes the sun has set already and there's not much of a view.

Personally we enjoyed all 3 meals at Palo (brunch, afternoon tea, and dinner), but if we had to choose only 1 to do again, it'd definitely be brunch :)

Oh where to begin? The cheese display? The bread display? The pizzas? The fruit? It had to be the best meal that we had on the Magic. Our filet at dinner melted in our mouths so we didn't have it at brunch but there was so much that we couldn't try it all. One of my favorites was the melon wrapped in procheto ham. I never would have thought that would be a good combo but it was wonderful!

I agree. I liked the brunch much more than the dinner. The dinner portions were so huge that I couldn't eat as much variety (although our server still brought out a lot of extra stuff) I ADORE crab legs, but hardly have them b/c of the work involved in opening them --at brunch they are opened FOR you! :) Whoever said the Stollen is to die for....AMEN! I had it as an appetizer AND dessert! And the pestos. And the pizzas. MMMMM.
If I could only do ONE of the meals again, I'd chose brunch!

Great food...great view...great service...what more could you ask for! :teeth:

The brunch at Palo is one of the best dining experiences of my life! I loved the food, atmosphere, service, did I mention the food?

Well, the glass of champagne they start you out with doesn't hurt. The crab legs are such a treat, and the stollen has been mentioned. I like the stollen with the fresh berries (big raspberries!) and whipping cream. And then there's the dessert table. Wonderful tiramisu and the most lemony meringue pie ever. It's all good!

Oh my. I'll be in heaven!!! :cloud9:

And tiramisu is my all time favorite dessert. I'm a bit of a tiramisu snob, though-- will the tiramisu at Palo measure up?

I really loved the brunch. It was nice to have the ocean views after dinner in the dark. The food was delicious, and after eating in the buffet on other days, it was just nice to relax and be pampered. It was one of the nicest times on the Magic for us. Dinner was good, but I MUCH preferred the brunch.

Oh, yes! How could I forget the crab legs? LOL! I picked one up & thought that it was broken. :) They somehow slice them right down the middle so all you have to do is pick out the meat. WONDERFUL!!!

We're doing the 4/3 land sea. Do they offer brunch on the 3 day Wonder?

If not, we'll just have to book another cruise :D

I think it's on the 4 and 7 day cruises only.

Sam

PS After riding Pirates on my last WDW visit, my 2 boys (4 and 6) and I would yell out "We wants the redhead!" everytime we saw a redhead in the parks. Totally embarassed my wife (who happens to be a strawberry blonde).
