Ive posted what annoys me now I will post what makes me smile :)

At the store today, I let another woman in front of me at the checkout. I wasnt in a huge hurry and she only had a few items anyway. She looked so pleased and we struck up the nicest conversation :) She was just a sweetheart. We ended up swapping recipes in line and as she left she said " Thanks so much, it was really a pleasure talking with you"

It was just a little thing but it was nice and left me with a good feeling.

So what made you smile today?

ETA, my biggest thing was yesterday though. DH had been out of town all week and it wasnt the easiest week Ive ever had. He came home early yesterday and brought me the sweetest, most heartfelt card thanking me for all the work I did. That still has me smiling

What a nice day Binny.

What made me smile today was at DS's soccer game. All of a sudden 3 of the boys were calling 'time out' to the ref. Why might you ask, well, there was a baby turtle in the middle of the pitch!!!! The ref called time, and one of the other coaches picked up the little beastie and took him off the pitch to safety. It was just so cute, seeing all 10 players crowding around the coach to see the little guy.

DH does this goofy thing where he holds the baby around a corner and waits for someone else to notice the "floating baby". She has this look on her face like "This may have been funny the first dozen times, but can we all get over it now?"

And I still laugh. :teeth:

This thread!

I'm having a crappy day on top of a bad week - and this thread made me smile. Thanks for letting me realize there are still nice people in this world!

I put on a pair of black pants that I haven't worn for awhile and they were baggier than I remember  Dang that's a good feeling :teeth:

Me too! But at least I can laugh at the antics of others!

Actually, my pets did make me laugh today. The cats who came rushing in to the kitchen, racing and playing. They were so rough and sounded like they were going to kill each other that our older cats rushed in to see what the problem was. :rotfl: And then the dog that mauled me when I was sitting on the floor. She couldn't believe that I wasn't playing with her, which of course meant that I had to play with her. :teeth:

And then the look of surprise on my 6yo's face when he came into the kitchen when the Upside Down song was on the radio and I flipped him upside down, something that I've been threatening to do to him. Of course he wanted me to do it again... :faint: :lmao:

I guess that I've had worse days. :)

ktpool, how cute! :teeth:

DS4 has been wearing his skeleton costume all day. The people at the gas station and grocery store sure did smile when they saw him. I hope his costume holds up 31 more days! :goodvibes

Just hanging out with my DH in our now, fully-framed new house. Nobody there but us and the sawdust. It might not be pretty, but it's ours. :teeth:

My son had soccer practice today and his coach told him that he needs to practice running backwards. So we came home and practiced running backwards in the yard. It was fun and I'm sure made the neighbors smile as well. :rotfl:

That's really cute and he would have made me smile, too!

My mother, DD16, and I went to the Olive Garden for lunch today and then did a little shopping. DD was feeling kind of down because she sprained her ankle a few days ago and is on crutches, and all of her friends were off doing homecoming activities. I figured it would do her good to get out for a bit. Every place we went to, people were so nice and helpful. They were holding doors open for her and the waiter pulled her chair out for her, and everyone was just so darn nice! She got a lot of sympathic smiles. Yes, it made me smile and my DD enjoyed the extra attention and it helped to lift her spirits! :)

Of course, I hope it was okay for her to be out. She bought a couple of books and is now resting with ice on her ankle.

Going out to lunch and shopping with my middle son who is home for the weekend from college. I haven't seen him in a month and probably won't see him again until Thanksgiving! So today, being with him put a big smile on my face. :)

After being away for only 3 hours today in hunt of black roses and a missing ball to a halloween display (no success on either) I came home and was greeted by DH with a huge hug, grin and "I missed you".
That made me smile!

Dh holding my hand while we shopped today and then kissing my wrist when we came to a stoplight :cloud9:

DD12 told us that in class the other day, they had to unscramble the letters TOAC. She missed the part where the answer had to be a word that could be used as both a noun and a verb. So her answer was TACO. She went on to plead her case to the teacher that if you could EGG a house or TP a house, then certainly you could TACO a house. Silly, I know but it made me giggle!

Your post just made me smile, I am visualizing Mischief Night with kids running around TACOing houses. What a cleanup! (I think your DD deserves an A for creativity)

I've got you all beat!! Today's my birthday and my wife surprised me with a box about the size of a watch from Tiffany & Co.! I told her that I didn't want anthing for my birthday and she told me, with a roll of the eyes, "Just open it!". I opened the box and it was a EPT tester...we're going to have another baby!!! :woohoo:
