Hi everyone! My BF has decided to come join my family and i for a couple of weeks on our WDW trip in July (im so excited :woohoo:), only problem is...hes not a huge Disney fan, hes never been before so i was wondering, what made you love Disney? Any suggestions on what we 'must' do? He says hes up for trying anything :)

BFs I'm guessing usually like the big thrill rides, so you should hit up the classic Tower of Terror, Space Mountain, Rock 'n Roller Coaster. Pirates of the Caribbean is also fun, as is Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. My personal favorite the Haunted Mansion isn't very 'Disney' or 'cutesy'. If he's not into cute Disney things, you'll probably want to avoid things like It's a Small World. My family (including my sister's fiance who really doesnt like Disney) are all big fans of Test Track and Soarin'. Dan the fiance also liked the Star Tours ride at MGM because he likes Star Wars.

i dont know about you but i love disney because it is so cute! it must be harder for guys, because things cant really be cute, but i feel like everything is so wholesome in disney. I also think that disney is somewhere where you can always be a kid again. Everyone in the park treats you well and you can really be silly and childish.
I think another thing that makes you love disney is the people you go with. Im sure your BF will have more fun just because he is with you. I love traveling with my family cause we all just joke and laugh all the time, and we just all enjoy ourselves, smiling, and have fun.
As for rides you have to go on Rockin Rollar Coaster and Tower of Terror in Disney MGM Studios. In Magic Kingdom i suggest the Buzz Lightyear ride in tomorrowland. Its always fun to have a little competition and see who scores higher while defeating the evil Zurg. LoL. Also in tomorrow land is Space Mountain, which is just a classic. You should take him on that and tell him about how its a lot of people very first rollar coaster, and its more of a nostoglic 80s thing than anything else. I know thats why i love it. Also in Magic Kingdom are a lot of little fun rides.
I personally love Epcot, so i suggest Mission Space. But what i like better than Mission Space is Test Track. That one is just fun to ride, and i highly suggest it. Soarin is also amazing. I really really liked that ride, so i suggest both of those over Mission Space. Also in Epcot go to all the coutries. They are all so cool, its another reason i really love epcot. Animal Kingdom doesnt have that many things but Expedition Everest is awesome so i suggest that, as well as the water ride there. You will get wet, but its fun!
I think in MGM studios they have the lights camera action show, or whatever its is really called, which i suggest because it is soo much fun to watch.

speaking on behalf of all men...jk... IMHO, I think that he would probably like test track, soarin, space mountain, splash mountain, misson space, tower of terror, rock n roller coaster, and (though I've never been to DAK) expedition everest and dinosaur

none of those are particularly "disney" actually...though all are very well imagineered and very exciting and fun

also, he might like innoventions at epcot or lights motor action at mgm

when I went with my GF we only went to the magic kingdom (we didn't have too much time) but we had a great time....even just riding the train around the park, and especially competing in the buzz lightyear thing...I made her ride splash mountain with me because I never had even though it was kind of chilly.....and we laughed and had fun together and it was a great day....I even waited in line with her to meet the princesses (note: she's 20)....and even though I would have rather been exploring the park and riding rides, I was so happy when I got to take pictures of her with the princesses and see how excited she was.....

(though i have loved disney movies since i was a kid and all the stories and characters...and I love experiencing that magic at WDW)

so even if he's not the biggest disney fan, i'm fairly confident he will get caught in the magic and enjoy himself no matter what, especially if you are enjoying yourself too

Thanks everyone for you replies! I love all these rides so im definitely gonna take him on everything. He keeps pretending hes not all that exciting about coming to Disney...but i keep hearing from his friends that he wont stop talking about it so im guessing hes a teeny bit excited. My family are quite big on the fireworks shows in the evening, but i recon he should enjoy them too. Thanks again for your help :)

I don't know about other guys, but my boyfriend loves disney.. When it comes time to plan our vacation every year it's one of the first places on his list. In fact, he waited with me in line at toon town and wanted to have his pictures taken too. I think it's more of a magical thing - once you get there you'll understand. He felt four years old, and it's like a "LET'S DO THIS, I CAN'T WAIT TO DO THIS" sort of thing. He's so cute

It can be difficult for boys to really "get" Disney sometimes but then others just love it straightaway. I mean, I have a guy friend who still gets emotional watching Wishes (after seeing about 20 times) lol

The big rides never fail to impress but really it's just about being a big kid and nobody pulls you up about it. Like Neverland......... :D lmao

I'm a 22yr old guy so I'm probably in a good position to advise.
Start your trip at Magic Kingdom, see the opening of the park and there's no way he can't be impressed. The feeling of walking through those gates for the first time never leaves you. Just make sure he has a magical time!
